Those popsicles look delcious! But, based on the holiday weather we're expecting, I may have to hold off making them until 4th of July when it'll be warmer.
Sharon -- it seems like you were just planning your cruise. Can't believe you're nearly ready to go. It'll be great!
Julie, that trailer is so cute! I looked at the link but they didn't show any indoor photos. It looks cozy - I bet you'd really enjoy it. Being so small, you wouldn't have to drive one of those giant pick-up trucks to haul it, right? If you get one, I'd like to see some photos of you and the dogs using it!
As for the TV news thing -- I can't speak to BBC news specifically, but I must say I agree that regular network news drive me a bit nutty when they cover big stories like natural disasters or the bombings, etc. When eating breakfast, I had CBS This Morning on. The reporter at the tornado site was interviewing a young boy who survived one of the school collapses. He described the scary experience he had, how they had to take cover with the teacher, what they saw and heard, etc., and he said: "I thought I was going to die." The reporter said, "Why did you think you were going to die?" Really? That's what you ask him after he just described what he experienced??? Sometimes they say and ask the silliest things, just to keep talking on these broadcasts.
I prefer the less sensationalized news they tend to provide on the NPR radio updates or the evening PBS broadcasts, but like someone else said, I think all the media outlets know what most viewers want to see, so there's always some level of that stuff in the reporting. At some point, you do get overwhelmed with all the upsetting images, even if you want to try to stay informed, so it's a tough balance.
On a lighter note, my laptop is on its last legs, so I've got to research where I can get a very basic one for under $500 preferably. I think I'll end up at WalMart or Costco. This one lasted well over 8 years, so I can't complain I guess.
