    Mindless Monday

Good morning! Hope everyone is ok from the tornados last night.

I was watching the news coverage this morning of the storms.  They said more to come today.  I'm glad we don't usually get many in our area.

Hot and humid for us today.  We're one man short today so that should make it a fun day.  Still no word on the bid tabulations.

So glad I don't live in an area that gets a lot of tornadoes. Thoughts and prayers for safety for all those affected.

It's been warm here for a few days, and definitely a drastic change from the previous weekend when it was 35 degrees and snowing. Bizarro world I tell ya'.

Had one jerk-wad customer at the track yesterday complaining about the payouts for our local track. He was certain we were ripping him off and said he was glad he only visited here once a year. Yeah, me too, you old miserable coot.

Tornados are scarey -- hurricanes can do a ton of damage, but tornados are just plain scarey.  I just emailed a friend to make sure she's ok.

    Good day to all

I'm paying for lots of stuff this morning, getting some paperwork done so I can get my stupid state licensure, what else? I've gotta run out for fingerprinting later so that I can do my stupid license, even though mine are less than a year old, because they want it within 90 days.

Riley got me up at 3:00 am to show me she pottied (Thanks babe I am good) and I couldn't fall back asleep.

About 4:00 when I was just starting to dose off again, Charlie decided it was time to pee and eat. I didn't have the energy to fight him. Tried to fall back asleep and never did so I got up and went into the office. I am beyond sleepy tired and since I ate breakfast at 4:45 I am starving.

Yikes Lisa - I hope you can wrap your day up early and go take a nap.

Agree that tornadoes are scary and very glad I don't live where they have them.

Yesterday was warm but super windy. The wind died overnight, so it should be a gorgeous day. I need to go grocery shopping and then take Shane for a long walk. I have a little bit of cleaning to do but it should be an enjoyable day.

Jackie - I hope you get good news today.

Lisa -- there was a guy on the radio here a few years ago who had a little girl in the same stages of potty training, and he wrote a SONG for his kid "She's a Super Duper Poo-per!!" that becamse sort of a local legend.  It got her through to "reliable" -- but I've often wondered if the kid will need to go to college elsewhere.  I can just imagine "I used to listen to your Dad on the radio ...."

3:00 am. qualifies you for Mom of the Year!!

Jackie - again hope your news comes soon and is GOOD!!

I just heard from my friend -- her family is all ok from the storms.

Isn't it amazing how "small" the US & the world have become -- and how many of us have friends ALL over the place!!

Yeah, every morning I have to practically drag Jamison out the door so he can pee before I leave for work and yet every weekend he's awake at the crack of dawn. Hmm

Lisa, just thinking about how exhausted you must be is making me feel more tired than I already am today.  Don't you wish you worked someplace like Facebook or Google or those cool places that have "napping pods" for their employees?  You'd be a candidate for one today!

The news coverage of the tornadoes is unbelievable.  I can't imagine the fear the people felt, hunkering down in bathtubs or wherever, hoping they didn't get crushed by their houses blowing apart.  Frightening.

Callie, your story about the girl whose father was in radio and made up a potty song about her reminded me of Hugh Grant's character in that movie, "About a Boy."  He was haunted by a famous, classic Christmas song that his Dad wrote -- he was constantly being reminded of it throughout his life, which he hated (even though he inherited all the royalties and was independently wealthy).

So the bucatini and meatballs recipe DH made yesterday for dinner was absolutely delcious.  I ate way too much, then kept waking up all night because the house still smelled like simmering sauce.  I wanted to take some leftovers for lunch today, but I resisted because we'll have it for dinner tonight.  Totally unhealthy recipe (a whole stick of butter in the sauce ---- really???), but man was it good!

     we're home :(

Oodles of catching up to do  - Lisa it appears you could use a nap this afternoon, hope it happens!

The beach was great and Bugsy was fine - he was very tired and sore each day but nothing tragic that I could tell. I suppose the next few days will tell me if any harm was done. I am constantly amazed at how good he is on trips, with people, other dogs, etc.  I told DH to take him down to the beach when we arrived, our room wasn't ready so I just needed to use the bathroom at reception and I'd meet them down there. Well I walk down the boardwalk and Bugsy was already playing with a lab pup and DH was chatting with the owner. I was like well that didn't take long to find a new buddy. :)

Everyone wants to pet him and say hi and his happy to oblige. He thought every dog & person he saw and met was lovely. We weren't as not for the first time we had someone make a special trip to see us and ask where we got him and what he was and have we bred him Indifferent This guy was nice enough but he was scary fixated on B. After he left we all wondered if he'd think about stealing my baby!!!

Anyway he didn't and we are home to bills, work, crazy phone calls and thunderstorms Boo hiss!!

I am refusing to do anything responsible until tomorrow!
