    Saturday Chat!

Happy weekend everyone. I hope you've got some fun planned. I of course do not. I've got work, and sometime this weekend I'm going to take my mom out for dinner since we didn't go last weekend. Luke is out with my friend and going to a demo this afternoon, and I'm thinking I should vacuum this mess in my room. That's it for me for now.

Four fluffs are past due for a spa day, so I need to schedule their baths and grooming for either today or tomorrow.  Tends to be a full day's work for me, with the 4 of them.  I may run them to the beach this morning first, as I won't take them to the beach for at least a week once they are groomed.  That salt air makes them mat right up!

Ahh, fun time on Saturday. The springer alarm went off at 5:30, as usual. I mowed the dandelions.May have to use a chemical attack, as they seem especially healthy. After all the work, my mower runs like a new machine-a new machine with a lumpy wet seat. Got a couple loads of brush from the hedge and trees set to take to the chipper. Wondering why my expensive grass seed, lovingly planted and cared for, doesn't grow half as well as the dandelions. Scheduled Piper for a toe nail trim-always exciting.

On the other hand, the cherry tree is blooming, the apples are budding out, the bunnies are trying to invade the garden, and all 600 grackles are hitting the bird feeders daily, along with a few Cardinals, Robins, Blue Jay, and one Rose Breasted Grosbeak. Rhubarb is up, asparagus is doing well, the grapes appear to have survived another winter, and I am tired already.

It is coffee time. Have a good week end.

Just saw that Luke is on the way to the demo. Hopefully the rain holds out another 45 minutes or so till they get done.

Not much exciting here.  Took Belle in this morning for her rattlesnake vaccine and made an appointment for Rex to get xrays of his hips and spine on Tuesday.

I was sorry to read that marlania had to put Brown down this morning.  Run free Brown.  We all know how hard it is and understand her pain.

It's going to be hot and muggy here.  DH is dreading mowing the grass because it got away from him and is pretty tall and thick.  He's off getting something checked on his truck.  I'm feeling very unmotivated today.  The city never did post the bid tabulations yesterday so that's still nagging at my mind.

We had a nice dinner out last night though the restaraunt's a/c was on the fritz and it was pretty warm.  It didn't bother me much but DH complained and whined about it.  Their frozen margarita machine broke too but I have mine on the rocks so no biggie to me.  DH likes his frozen.  I told him at one point that he's going to have to get over the little things and enjoy the evening or at least be quiet and quit spoiling mine.  He complied and had another margarita on the rocks. lol

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I hadn't heard about Brown :(. Was that on FB?

Jackie - I'm sorry you didn't some good news yesterday on the bids. It would've been nice to have a reason to celebrate and we won't even consider that you won't be celebrating when you hear something.

I got up early and was at Homeward Bound at 8 for weed-a-palooza. The foxtails are out of control and so a few of us have been trying to get them cleaned up. I almost didn't go because I woke up feeling stressed out but then realized it was exactly what I needed. I feel 100% better and we made a huge dent in the weed population. I might go back tomorrow morning with Shane and help again. I'm determined to chill out and finish a book I'm reading on my kindle today and a nap is definitely in the plans too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!!

Wow, I thought there'd be a couple pages of posts by now . . . I'm getting here a bit late.  Looks like some people are busy doing other things today.

I just saw the thread about Brown.  So sad . . . like Jackie said, so many of us understand.

Last night my friend came over to watch Grimm.  Now that it's on at 10pm on Tuesdays, she doesn't stay up late enough to see it, and she doesn't have a DVR or On Demand (I can't imagine!!).  She brought over homemade lasagna -- the pan was still hot -- and it was SO good.  She said it was a recipe from Cooking Light magazine, so it had low fat cheese, whole wheat noodles, low fat ground beef.  But it was just as tasty as the "real" stuff.  She offered to leave the leftovers, but we told her she should keep it for herself.  Now I'm wishing I hadn't been so considerate.  I'd love some now!

It's cold enough today that I decide to run the self-clean cycle on my oven so the house wouldn't feel too hot.  Because I don't want to leave the house with it running, I'm doing things like ironing, filing, laundry, etc.  I may sit my butt on the couch and read a magazine at some point.  What an exciting weekend I'm having!

Apple cider vinegar kills them and is dog friendly.  Just put it in your sprayer, no need to dilute it,  and spray them.

Of course, if you are Italian descent like me, and provided they have been in an area off limits to the doggies, you just pick them and make dandelion salad, YUM!

I just played around with my tv, and I am pretty certain it is my tv that is dead, not and not the cable box. Actually, both of the identical tvs seem to be dead. I hooked up a dvd player to both tvs, and my playstation on mine, and got no picture from either. I think that means I'll be purchasing a new tv. I think I'll just wait till next week though, because I'm sure the sales will be better for Memorial day.
