Jackie, that sounds like a horrible situation with your neighbors. Those people are the type who wouldn't respond to anything you did or said to try to address the problem, I bet. Despite not having met them, I'm certain that I disklike them immensely, just by your description! Why do some people have to be so ignorant and inconsiderate?
Doug, sorry you have to play "musical yard tools" rotating between rakes and snow shovels! I guess I shouldn't complain about the erratic weather here -- one day it's comfortable enough for just one layer of clothing and cute springy shoes -- the next day you might need 3 layers, a rain jacket, and boots (like my outfit today).
I'm so glad it's Friday. Being gone all day last Sunday and having a full week has caused me to feel behind in all kinds of tasks and chores (some trivial, others very important). It's stressing me out. I wrote a long list of "To Do's" last night, and I will start tackling them as soon as I get home today.
The biggest load off my mind is I decided not to pursue the job opportuntiy I mentioned in yesterday's thread. I've never been one to feel good about taking risks and making changes -- and this would've required both, in huge amounts (totally different type of work, significant increase in hours and stress, at a lower rate of pay). It would be a new career path, potentially more personally rewarding, but I just couldn't muster the courage to do it. I decided I'd rather feel a little regret about not trying it, instead of the much greater risk of having a serious negative affect on the new employer (and my physical and mental health) if I got in there and realized it was a bad fit and way too much for me to handle. One good thing: it motivated me to get serious about kicking off a job search (in my existing field). I got my resume all polished up, which was a big step for me!
