    Wednesday chat

So glad that it's mid week finally.  I don't know what to do with myself this week without someone to train!  Two straight weeks of that and before that, a week "off' after another trainee.  I think we are interviewng yet another this afternoon, but the boss hasn't let me know for sure yet.  I'll be at the office anyway for a bit since he wants me in on the proof reading today.  Lovely.  Lots of mistakes last week that were big and costly and had to be fxed at the printers.  So, detail oriented Glenda gets to help.  I HATE proof reading!  BLECH!!

Two of my new reps are doing great!  The third is on his first week alone and seems to be doing well also.  Starting to feel like the momma duck seeing her ducklings safely across the road.  Tongue Tied

Hope everyone has a good day today!

As much as I hate rain, it is nice that we are getting a lot of it right now. We have been way too dry.

The muscles in my shoulders are like rocks and I can't figure out how to loosen them up. It hurt to turn my head in any direction. No idle why they are so tight but this has been going on for a couple of weeks. I had a massage appt but had to cancleand she doesn't have anything open for a while. whine whine.

Today is going to be so boring it will probably kill me.

Julie do you think its from your pillow? or is it worse after a day working on a computer? Try that woodlock oil Callie talks about. I have some and its great for muscle pain. You can get it here at Chinese market not sure where you might get it locally.

Jackie sorry about the sinus headache I can totally empathize

pretty straight forward day here - busy through about 5.  Its really warm, I know some of you think you want this but 90* seems a bit much. I think we have today and tomorrow flirting with 90 then storms Friday and some 70's which is perfect.

Bugsy is a moron, in case anyone had forgotten. The more he is restricted the more he is nuts when he gets to do something. So he is super hard to handle and its not like there's much you can do. He is so wound up he is brain dead, no treat or command is going to be recognized. It totally sucks. He looks like hell this morning after being a lunatic on leash last night and my back and hands are bad too. Every once in a while I believe he's past this nonsense only to have that bubble burst

ah well the minutes are ticking by - try to have a good one all

Have you tried Tiger Balm Julie?  I find it very helpful, especially if you can get someone to put it on and rub it in good.

so glad I am out today Angry

It was over 80° and will be again today.  Hannah was upset b/c we didn't have her summer clothes out of the attic so she could wear shorts today, but sheesh, her soccer practice was cut short last Wed b/c it was too cold and had started snowing!

I had a dream about Blaze the other night.  In it DH and I had gone to visit his parents (but it was at their old place, not their current one) and when we started walking up the steps to the little front patio Blaze walked across and down a couple steps to greet us.  I remember thinking in the dream that her doing that was normal and what she did every time we went to visit (not the case) but I did recognize that it shouldn't be possible b/c Blaze is dead.  I was so excited in the dream that she was there and I kept gushing to DH that is was amazing that she was here since she was supposed to be gone.  He didn't understand what I was getting so excited for, just kept saying, "of course she's here doing that, its what she always does."

It was nice to "see" her again, even if just in a dream, though also made me a bit sad too.

Neither DH or I remembered to put bottles in the diaper bag for the sitter this morning (she keeps formula there and just makes as needed).  Usually we both double check each other, but for whatever reason this morning we must have both been brain dead.  We were going to go to the store to buy some for her (closer than running home) but she actually had an extra one that she said would be ok to use for the day.  I think we're going to buy some more this weekend so she can keep 1 or 2 there, in case we screw up again.

    Have a great day everyone!

(((Steph)))  I dream about Twister several times a week.  I rarely tell anyone because I start to cry.

Holy moley!  I've been asked for a second interview this time with the VP I'd be working for and with his senior staff.  I really thought I blew it.  I couldn't fully create the excel sheet they requested for the testing purposes.  I also HORRIBLY blanked mid-answering a question during the interview and knew my face turned red.  I also stuttered a lot (I was nervous lol).  EEEEEK!  I was bluntly honest about my rusty excel skills and told them (truthfully) that I am currently looking at enrolling myself in some online courses; I planned on starting that this weekend.

It snowed. And it is going to snow some more. The street in front is hard packed slush, turning to ice. Last night, about 7PM, wife said she was cold. Tstat was set at 68, house was at about 64 and going down. Checked the furnace. Blower was working fine. Inducer was working well. The gas valve was clicking, the ignitor was glowing, there was no fire. Called the service company, he said $150/hr for after hours. Told wife she needed another sweater. I then checked each and every electrical connection in the furnace. Tapped the gas valve and regulator with heavy objects. Cursed once or twice. Reset the furnace several times. Everything appeared to be working, just no fire. Then it started. Apparently Old German works. The tech will be out to check it later today. Didn't want him driving a van on that ice covered highway that is already rated as deadly for a non emergency. Uff da.

Good for you. Skills can be taught. Attitude and personality come built in.

Doug, we might need to know the "magic words" that you used so we can invoke them when our household appliances give us some trouble!  Wink

Sharon -- I didn't see your post until very late yesterday (after the interview).  I was going to say that I bet you did better than you think -- I think we tend to be more self-critical and feel like something went poorly, when from someone else's perspective, it went quite well.  And I totally agree with Doug -- technical skills can be taught/learned.  They saw the important things in your attitude and personality and knew that any "rusty" areas could be polished up in no time.  Go get 'em!

Steph, your dream sounds very special.  It's been a long, long time since I had a dream about Tonka, but I still remember 2 very vivid ones I had shortly after he died -- I could feel him like he was fully alive.  I wish I would dream about him on a regular basis.  I'm sure it makes you very sad, Jackie, to dream of Twister so often, but I think it's wonderful that his little spirit is so present during your slumber.

I'm heading out to work -- today I'll be stopping by my favorite bakery to get a freshly baked blueberry scone.  I try to keep my visits to only once per week, but boy would I love to eat one every morning!

Yay Sharon!! I don't know why but I had a good feeling about you getting the 2nd interview. Good luck!!

The wind finally died down and it's supposed to be in the mid-80s today. I am finally going to take the plunge and plant some flowers this weekend. The wind storm we had the last couple days is what usually destroys my early plantings but hopefully we won't have another one.

Julie - I agree with Karen about the woodlock oil. Callie sent me some and I've used it for exactly what you're describing. It really seemed to help. Just a word of caution though - wash your hands a few times afterwards. It stings like heck if you get any in your eyes.

I've had a full calendar of appts lately and it gets worse before it gets better. I had my physical on Monday and a TB test, so I have to go back and have that read today plus have a CBC done, because they forgot to order that. Friday I have a dental cleaning and then Monday morning I have an eye appt. I see a new, regular dentist for a check-up Monday afternoon. I've been seeing my periodontist and having cleanings done there for the last few years but I need x-rays and an exam. Such fun, right?

Thanks guys!  I am very critical of myself and it was definitely not one of the best interviews I gave, but in the end I was just myself.  Doug, you're quite right that skills can be taught, but not a personality or attitude.  So, hopefully they're seeing me as a positive person that is very trainable to get me up to speed.  Which, I am :)

I just ate my weight in pizza.  There's a relatively new pizza place in town (opened up a few months ago) and omg their pizza is good.  What isn't good, is that they know me by face, voice and where I work lol.  Yeah, I eat a lot of pizza.  But, hey, I'm still losing weight Stick out tongue
