    Wahoo Its Spring-y Saturday!!

Oh dear Bugsy is through with playing at recovery - this is good and this is bad!

He was desperate to go upstairs last night and I decided he would be fine and he was. I moved the crate back up this morning and he sees this as liberation LOL He'll only go up at the end of the night but it was great for all of us

So yes I have moved a 50" crate already, vacuuming and cleaning all around where it was and where it went.

I have grand plans for a LOT of gardening today. Hoping my old body is up to it!

Its sunny and very Spring like - this has me energized and happy

The sun finally went away. *sad face*

Neiko is annoying this morning. He is bringing me all his toys and begging me to play. It is way too early to listen to squeak squeak squeak!

No big plans for today other than some shopping cleaning and laundry. Boring but necessary

oh goodness - Bugsy discovered an underground nest of some sort of mouse Tongue Tied

Spring my ***. We got a couple of inches of snow last night. Supposed to continue through tonight, possibly 6 inches total. Sad

I'm bringing Willa to a Home Depot workshop this morning. Should be fun! Then tonight we're going to a spaghetti dinner at a fundraiser for a local kid with leukemia. I hope they have a good turnout.

Bummer about the snow, Jan.  :(  I hope the fund raiser is a big success.

Yay for Bugsy!  Have fun gardening, Karen.  I had to laugh at your comment about being old.

It's cloudy this morning but mild and I'm sure the sun will be out soon.  We ate breakfast out at a little hole in the wall place.  Delicious and cheap.  Chiliquiles were fantastic but now I'm so full I don't want to do anything.  We're taking the dogs to a friends for a romp and then going to the plant nursery.  I hope we can  make it to the botanical gardens but if not there's always tomorrow.

Another beautiful day here.  The wind is a bit cool, but heading towards 50 again today.  Oh yes!!

I'm back from getting new tires.  Did anyone know, DOES anyone actually know that two different brands of identical tire rotate at different speeds per mile and if you only replace two you make the something or other work too hard and damage the tranny?  And on an AWD vehicle it happens even faster?  Oh, and if you don't rotate the tires front to back they wear oddly and the same thing happens?  I now consider myself educated and firmly put in my place regarding tires.  Sheeesh!  But, I've got 4 new tires on the Escape, whether I could afford the darned things or not.  And, honestly it makes an incredible difference in how it drives.

So yeah, me too on the errands and shopping.  Need to get laundry going too.  Glorious day with a good breeze so things should dry outside quickly.  Bedding always smells soooo good dried outside.

Geeze, Jan.  So sorry you got snowed on.  It's too darned late in the year for any more of THAT stuff!

Hope everyone has a good day.  I'm off to the races!

Glenda - I have an AWD vehicle now and had heard that if you replace one, unless it was close to new, you have to replace them all. I'm not looking forward to that expense.

The fundraiser was a huge success in terms of turn out but we were woefully short on volunteers and I felt like crying a few times. One of the women who was in charge of gathering and organizing the silent auction items bailed out last night. Who does that?? My good friend Taira ended up spearheading just about everything, as she usually does but I wish I could've done much more to help. Between the stress of the drive and the chaos of the event, I feel spent and won't be doing anything else today. DH just left for a bike ride and I'm planning to lay down for a nap with Shane :).

Karen - I'm so glad that Bugsy continues to improve but I'm sure it's going to make your job a lot harder.

Cathy, that's what he was telling me.  I learned far more about tires than I EVER wanted to know!

The guy is feeding you a line of bs on the tires.

LOL Julie I am more with you on that than not - there are some things that really do make a difference and certain types of tires do need special treatment but overall its not that complicated. Some high end vehicles have different sizes on the front and back and have limitations around replacement and rotation but that's about it. Oh well its always good to have a new set of correctly sized and inflated tires.

I am exhausted. I woke up busy today and stayed that way. One job I thought might take an hour took nearly 3!! My lower back and shoulders are sore. But I got loads done inside and out. OPf course dinner wasn't much because a) I am tired and b) its the Final Four (collage basketball)

Bugsy has been a PIA all day. He has no pain sensitivity so he just powers on. His elbow looks swollen but of course he won't let me ice it so I've left him cooped up in his room to sleep for a while (hopefully). I try to let him release some steam and do some simple things but it always turns into a struggle to keep him from being insane. Anyway sorry to keep mentioning this stuff here. I am trying to focus on putting it on his blog.

It was a gorgeous day and we should have a few in a row. This pleases me

I'm not familiar with AWD tire requirements but sounds like a sales pitch to me.  But getting all four at the same time is always best if you can swing it.  Amazing what a difference it makes.

Karen, I know this is the hardest part of recovery with Bugsy.  Don't feel you can't mention it here.  We all love our Bugs and want to hear about how he's doing.  I'm with you on the being sore from yard work.  Oy, my aching back.

    Frozen pizza for dinner.

Cathy, that is such a shame about the no-shows at the fund raiser.  It's one reason I am hesitant to get involved in group or club activities.  Too few do more than their share while others fail to fulfill their promises.  I had my share of that years ago.

Tomorrow we might make it to the botanical gardens.  The weather is so nice that being outside is the only option this weekend.

I'm going to beat my friend. We're at dinner on our way home from a flyball tournament, waiting for the check. I have to do the driving, we're probably about 90 min. From home. I have to drive out 2 hours tomorrow. She isn't coming. I need to leave at 5:30. She's sitting here whining for the waitress to hurry up. I just told her to quit her whining. Honestly, I am driving. You can sleep if you wanted to (and often she will do that if I am driving). You could stay up an chat and keep me awake. She usually whines about late driving home. I always drive though. Sorry, haven't caught up with stuff today because I've been at the flyball tournament.

Re: the AWD tires, it was DH who knew about the issue. He used to be a service mechanic for Nissan before between being in IT and becoming a firefighter :). Lexus only confirmed what he told them. Here's more on it if anyone cares - http://www.howstuffworks.com/replacing-tires.htm

My uncle and a very close family friend (who I have always looked up to) are both dying from terminal illnesses. I'm really bummed out about both tonight. I have been talking to each through email and fb this weekend and it is so sad. Sometimes the reality of life and death just sucks. Sorry to be a downer! Just wanted to get that off my chest.

In other news, I seem to be on a necklace buying bender lately. Must stop!

Julie, I'm sorry you're feeling the sadness of the impending loss of two special people.  I don't know if it's because I'm getting older myself and am more sensitive to such things, but it seems like more and more I hear about people facing terminal diagnoses or who die suddenly due to heart attacks or accidents.  I know death is a part of life, but I simply will never understand why it has to strike a lot of good people far too early or why some people have to suffer so much.

Karen, I think this forum is exactly where you can share (as often as you'd like) info about Bugsy's recovery, even if you think it's repeating yourself.  Where else can we find sympathetic ears (or eyes)?  Most of the people in our "real life" aren't going to understand why we feel the need to regularly talk about such things.  Besides, if you're not posting about Bugsy, I'm wondering about him anyway, so you may as well keep posting -- otherwise we'll be asking!

Cathy, I'm sorry you felt overwhelmed by the short-staffing at the event.  That kind of stuff puts me into a panic.  I'm sure to the average guest, the whole event went smoothly, but I'm sure you were wiped out when you got home after all the extra work and stress.

Jan --- snow??  Yikes!  There should be a law against April snow!

I've got to get up early tomorrow -- going to visit a friend in a town 2+ hours away.  So, I spent today doing everything I would've done tomorrow -- laundry, cleaning, etc.  I know it'll be fun to see my friend once I'm there, but I'd kind of prefer staying home.  It'll be a long day with the 4+ hour round trip.
