Huge temp drop here too but the sun is shining :)

Lisa I was so sorry to hear about your DH's grandma. I hope that she can access some help (((hugs)))

Bugsy wants to go for a walk today - I mean a real walk. He's been out twice with me and once with DH and he tries to 'trick' you into going down the driveway and down the street. Not just yet big guy LOL Still won't let me get my hands on his leg to do the ROM though! Angry

I couldn't resist and about 4pm I set out for the lake and did a short kayak paddle. It was crazy windy so it was hard work in one direction and fast going in the opposite direction Big Smile

hum de hum work is calling

I too hope that your DH's g'ma can get some help Lisa.  Mother has dimentia, tho not serverely, and sometimes talking to her is like talking to a child.  I count it as a gift when she is truly lucid and "herself".

Poor Bugsy.  That recovery part is such a PITA when you just wanna RUN!

Off to the trenches.  Hope everyone has a good day.

bye bye car payment!!! I paid it off today. A whole year early even. I'm so happy I could dance. I feel like buying myself a little present. Like maybe a towing package and a new bike rack.

Last night was another 8 pm to sleep night. No idea what is going on. I am usually the insomnia queen and lately I can't stay awake beyond 8:30.

I'm working from home today too and it is going to be a busy one. off I go. have a great day all!

     Congrats Julie!!

Deb I <3 PB&J   In fact I still have it at least once a week for lunch. I am almost embarrassed to admit that darn near every single day of my life as a kid I packed a PB&J for lunch. My mom used to say "why not something different today" Uninterested!

Even now if I pack a lunch 90% of the time its PB &J Embarrassed

I love my PB&J using orange marmalade and a side of bbq flavored potato chips!

My go to is extra crunchy PB and Strawberry jam on really soft white bread.

As a kid I had Skippy & Smuckers strawberry. End of story.

I guess I need to buy bread. I have a lunch able today because I needed to grab something quick. This week I'm basically back and forth all day. Was down the street to the school this morning, now I'm in NJ near Princeton, then back near home, then back over by Six Flags.

The kid I am with now, they left him in his clothes from yesterday. That would be fine, if his sleeve wasn't covered in dried snot. I'm doing stuff where I have to touch him very little.

oh, I love pb&j too but I really like super crunchy peanut butter and now I'm hungry for one.

Congrats on paying your car off Julie!! That's always such a good feeling.

A gorgeous day here and I'm wishing I didn't have to go to work. I did work out in the yard for a bit yesterday and loved it. We have a wasp nest along the walkway towards the back of the yard and I was going to spray it but Jackie has made me rethink it. I didn't realize there was anything beneficial about wasps. I usually wouldn't mess with it but it's in Shane's favorite snooping area of the yard. Maybe I'll just leave it alone now though.

The woman who owns the rescue ranch I was at on Saturday emailed me some info/videos on why we should give up all dairy products. I had no idea about how cheese is made nor how dairy cows are managed. I actually find the idea of giving up milk easier than giving up cheese. Has anyone else ever looked into the whole industry?

PB&J and a cold glass of milk=perfect meal. Big Smile

I'm with Julie - a Jif creamy girl here. Too many bad memories of generic peanut butter as a kid.

I had a science class in college where we went to a commercial dairy farm and then to a small organic farm. The commercial farm, well, it grossed me out to learn that they mixed feed with the cows' own dried manure to extend the feed. Maybe all factory farms don't do it but this point really stuck with me.  All I could think was that it's no wonder dairy cattle are pumped full of antibiotics if they are eating poop. Obviously cows wouldn't produce milk without having given birth, so once the calves are removed, we force the cow to give milk by keeping on milking it. The organic farm, well, they did do that part, but at least the guy wasn't feeding the cows their own poop. The shift from everyone farming and being self-sufficient has a lot to do with the factory farming industry's practices. We want food and we want it now, and at the lowest cost we can possibly get it for, so this is the price we and the animals pay.

From what little I know about factory farming (for dairy, beef, chickens, etc.), not to mention my general interest in animal welfare, I am 100% a vegan in my heart.  But, because I don't like enough variety of vegetables and legumes, I would starve (or at least be very unhealthy) if I gave up those other foods.  Sure, I could eat spaghetti everyday, but that's not an ideal diet!  I do try to be aware of the sourcing of foods I buy, and if there's an organic or humanely raised option, that's good.  The problem is, they're way more expensive, so it's hard to strike a balance between one's conscience and one's pocketbook.

I could give up cheese since I don't like it anyway, but I love milk and ice cream, so that would be tough!

Speaking of milk -- I must have a glass of it with my PB&J sandwiches (either smooth or chunky PB is good, but it must be raspberry preserves, with the seeds)!

Happy Loan Pay-off, Julie!  That is cause for celebration.  I hate having a car payment.  DH often hints at replacing my car, but I refuse.  It's still in good running condition, and I haven't had a car payment in 6+ years.  Not interested in having one anytime soon!  I prefer to drive my cars into the ground.
