Sunny Saturday chat

    Sunny Saturday chat

Looking cautiously around for another Chat.  I've been checking for the last hour or so, and don't see a darned thing.  And, for the record, I am wearing the bifocals.  Confused

It is an absolutely beautiful day here.  Bright sunshine, clear skies and supposed to top out near 50.  As soon as it warms up a bit, I think I'll head outside and rake out my flower gardens.  I've noticed crocus here and there around town and I'm betting my stuff is up too.  Maybe I'll even be able to put laundry out on the line.  A little bit of sunshine combined wih warmish temps, and I get downright giddy!  I might not be quite so smiley after I check out the back yard....I'm sure I've got some poop scooping to do out there, but.......

    Hope everyone enjoys this day!

It's a gorgeous day! Sunny and mid 50s today. I am heading out for a visit with some friends with the dogs. They have a 30 acres property all fenced in with a pond and a tree house! So I am going to spend the night in the tree house with the pups. How cool is that? Can't wait. These friends rescue greyhounds and I guess they s use the pond as the in field of a race track and they race each other round and round. Nice life for an ex track dog eh?

Last night's poker game was a riot. There was one other female coworker there who kept beating my winning hands by one stupid card each time. It was driving me nuts! At one point I threw my cards down and said bbiiiittccchhh! (in a joking way of course) and a male coworker says "you are the only one at this table that can get away with that" lol how true that is. Anyway it was tough. Everyone had great poker faces.

I was a bit torn though. Several other coworkers were going to see a beetles cover band at msu the going to shoot pool after. That would have been fun too and I am sorry I missed it.

I am hoping to get some exercise this weekend. I think I gained 5 lbs with all the junk I ate last night (and beverages)

Wow Julie - a treehouse sounds very cool. Please take lots of pictures.

The clouds are rolling in and it we'll have rain by this evening and for most of tomorrow. We've had mostly great weather, so I shouldn't whine about it but I really wanted it to be nice tomorrow. Fortunately, it looks like most of the big Easter events for kids is happening today.

DH found carrot cake flavored M&Ms and they are yummy!! I tried to find some for him for Easter but they were all gone. I did find coconut filled though, so I'm hoping they're just as yummy.

Trying to be sunny here -

    Julie that sounds like fun!!

Cathy we had those carrot cake ones - I also got some white chocolate ones from Target that were yummy!

My yard was invaded by cedar waxings this morning - I am guessing there were more than a hundred. They were fighting with a gang of robins for the fountain, here's one pic I took

Holy crap Karen that is an awesome shot! I so want your fountain!

I feel like I need to go find these carrot cake M&Ms later.

Karen, that's beautiful. I'm not a fan of birds, but that really is.

Luke and I are going over to my friend's later tonight. He'll have to hang in the car for a bit while I'm working. We're going to help her dog do weaves with distraction. Luke will go along this time, maybe I'll bring Callie another time.

I slept so late this morning, till a little after 9, because I took allergy medicine around 10:30 last night. I really need to do that before flyball class instead of after. Of course, next weekend we need to be up and out by 5:30 at the latest. I didn't book a room for next weekend's flyball tournament. The closest things to it that are affordable and not getting reviews of being gross were a half hour away. I live about two hours away. The one really close that the team arranged a block with is I think $130 a night. Absolutely not for me. If the racing is done early, I'll think this was a great idea for saving money. If it runs really late, obviously I'll regret not getting a room for Saturday night. I wish I could afford to go out on Friday. I need to get some answers from the State Board of Medicine. A tip we got from a doctor was to go there and get the answers in person.  When I called, they told me to email. I emailed over a week ago.

What I want for lunch is in two different places. I want something from Wawa, and something from Saladworks. Actually, in typing that, I realized that I can go to a different area, and there is a Wawa and Saladworks near each other in that town. I guess I should get off my lazy butt and get dressed if I want to go there.

Karen, that pic is great!!  It's incredible how much birds love gently moving water.  I rarely see more than a few birds at our bird baths or the little whiskey barrel pond.  Rex is the bird patrol here and he doesn't allow anything that flies much time to relax in our yard.   Maybe I could put a bubbler in the front yard.

Julie, that sounds like a blast!  Enjoy.

Cathy, sorry you're going to have a soggy Easter.  Send it here and I'll send you some dry weather. lol  Whey doesn't it rain when we don't care?

We're going to the Hill Country for lunch.  A late lunch since we ate breakfast late and aren't hungry.  This place is known for it's homemade pies.

Yum!  Pie is my favorite dessert if it's good.  I hope the bluebonnets are pretty along the drive.

Forgot what else I was going to comment on.  Off to continue fertilizing. It's a perfect Spring day.  Big Smile

Karen, that photo is absolutely amazing!  We have a regular birdbath (i.e., still water, not a fountain or bubbler).  We've never seen more than 2 or 3 birds at a time on it.  I'm not sure I've ever seen that kind of bird around here.  I'll ask my friend when we walk today.  She knows all about birds that are in our region.

Julie, I'm thinking the weather at night is still pretty darn cold where you are, right?  Is that tree house heated?  If not, I hope you have warm PJs and a toasty sleeping bag/blankets!  It sounds like a fun place to spend the night.

FANTASTIC weather here today.  It's a bright blue sky (a rarity this time of year) and it's due to reach the low 70's.  Ruby has been lying out in the flower beds this morning.  She's going to want to sunbathe as much as she can today.  I did some laundry and mopped the kitchen floor, but I have a feeling I'll be abandoning chores and sitting outside with a book or some magazines this afternoon!

Just had to catch up on yesterday and todays posts.

Tracy it was me that mentioned about talking to your neighbor. I understand where you are coming from and your plan of emailing his wife sounds like a great idea. That way, you are being non confrontational about it all and as you've said, his wife might get him to stop doing it. Hopefully that is the way things will turn out.

Callie, that place looks just as you've said, beyond beautiful. I can totally understand getting up that early.

Julie, that does sound like fun. It must be quite the tree house.

Karen that picture of the cedar waxwings is gorgeous. It is the running water that does seem to attract the birds. Love your fountain.

Jackie hope you see the bluebonnets. I've only seen photos and can just imagine how pretty they are seeing them for real.

Yes it is still pretty cold here at night. The tree house has a little gas heater and I am toasty warm especially with all 3 dogs in the bed. No electricity or running water here or in the regular cabin. (there's a loft style cabin in the front of the property near the pond). It is awesome though. The cabin is heated by a fire place and the stove is a wood burning stove, one of those old monster sized ones. It is pretty awesome. All very rustic and just perfect. The dogs are over the moon with how much fun this place is. Neiko did some dock diving and the other 2 swam every chance they got. They followed us around on the 4 wheelers too. Now I have 3 very tired doggies.

Mmm.  Carrot cake M&Ms sound incredibly good, but I don't think I'd trust myself with a whole bag of them. I went outside for a bit a little after 6 p.m. and it started to sprinkle, but quit after a few drops. I'm starting to think this big "storm" is going to fizzle out.

I just realized that I still have two clocks that are an hour behind Tongue Tied but one of them needs a new battery anyway.
