    Chatting on a Thursday

I think its called Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday

I spent so much time getting organized last night and been busy since 6 this morning. Busy work day today so wanted to get as much done as possible

Julie I am hoping Abbie is OK and didn't get a lick of the poison :(

Bugsy is doing fine. He settled in his 'rehab' room and was fine until I woke up this morning. He is happy to wander around a bit on the leg but typical for him he isn't too interested in me doing the range of motion exercises. Iz boring. apparently. He is eating like he's never had a meal before LOL

    OK that's all I've got

Have a good day and thank you again for all the support

So glad to hear Bugsy is on the road to recovery.

Julie, I hope Abbie is okay. Ugh.

I'm getting a massage after work. It's my belated Xmas gift and I really.need.it.

Oh no, I hope Abbie is OK! Working from home again today. I have to get a bunch of stuff done at my parent's before them come back from next week. It's amazing, every year it sneaks up on me and I am like "crap" I wanted to do that before they came home. This time is uninstalling the custom shoe rack I had installed in my closet at their house. I lived at home until I got married in my late 20's so I really settled in. LOL P.S. I am glad Bugsy is doing OK today

I looked up rat poison info and it is so hard to tell anything without knowing the type. Lowest I could figure is about a mg /kg which seriously that is about a lucky or 2. It also would take 36 hr or so to work as well. She is fine this morning though. I am hoping nothing will happen

Glad b is feeling good enough to eat!

It is beautifully sunny this morning and already the dun is warming the air a bit.

I have such a long day ahead. I originally had back to back and over lapping meetings so had to reschedule a couple just to keep my sanity.

    I am already late

The new rodenticide is scary stuff with no antidote unlike the warfarin type.  I'm sure the small amount she may have ingested won't harm her.  We set out some mouse traps at work yesterday because they've been invading the office lately.  Caught two but I'm sure there are more.  We have a creek behind our shop and it's home to a lot of wildlife.  Some more welcome than others. lol  Of course when the drainage project is done we probably won't have anything but the rodent type since the hawks will be gone. :(

Karen, I'm glad B is doing well even if he's not enjoying his PT.  I just can't get over how relieved I am that he's finally had the treatment he needed.  I can only imagine how relieved you must feel.  :)

Tina, can I come along for a massage?  I really could use some relaxation help today.

The exercise bike kicked my butt this morning.

This week has felt like a month so I'm really glad it's almost over!

I turned my trainee loose to work on his own today, then we'll reconnect again tomorrow. He needs to see for himself the insanity of a true service day so he knows how to do it himself.

Then Monday I start with a new trainee. This one is very young, but seems very eager. Again, no media sales background, but I honestly don't care if he used to dig ditches as long as he has the right attitude, enthusiasm and the willingness to learn. He's got the people skills and I can teach him to sell.

And then, maybe, once I get this one finished I can be done training for a bit. Altho......I do have to work with one of the gals sometime next week too. All this teaching really cuts into my selling time! This week flat out sux!

We have a sales seminar coming up the end of April that the boss wanted to figure out a way to get people to go to.....it's not cheap, it's a full day off the streets and a drive to Boston. So, I had to come up with an incentive plan where if you sell X he pays a certain part of the fee, if you see Y, he pays even more.......and, of course, we're running out of rate cards, so that meant I had to go over them and make corrections before they go to the printer. I think the boss needs to put a little bit extra in my paycheck every week. Wink

Off to the trenches. Hope everyone has a good day.

I got a sugar rush just looking at that picture.

Glad to hear Bugsy is doing well.

Got to be really careful with any poison. I worked a bit for a farmer who put out treated seed to kill sparrows. He lost most of his cats from the secondary poisoning, and still had sparrows . Check for and remove the dead.

A lovely time of year. Lawn needs to have doggie fewmets removed. Its been a long winter.

Trying to pick out a place to run the pup-not too wet, not too muddy, not too far away. The black top soil is showing everywhere. I had to spend an afternoon cleaning mud off the pup once, after getting too close to a plowed field. I gave her a trim, basically shortening the hydrotropic hairs on her underside a bit.

Good thoughts for Abbie! Poisons scare the crap out of me these days.

Clouds moved in today, so it looks gloomy. It looks like we might get some rain on Easter too. Bummer for all the kids and Easter egg hunts but we sure need it.

My friend lost her kitty yesterday. She'd been acting funny off and on for over a week now and yesterday she was having what appeared to be siezures. My friend rushed her to the vet but he said he thought she'd had a stroke and so they chose to let her go. She'd had a good, long life with them. Run free sweet little kitty.

Ugh!  DH and I were just talking about this type of thing last night.  Our neighbor is obsessed with ridding his yard of squirrels.  He thinks they're killing the fir trees in his yard because they strip the bark off and use it for nesting.  He's been on the warpath for them for a few years (they've also gotten into the crawl space under his house).  He's like the guy in Caddyshack, constantly on the hunt for the gopher (only it's not funny in real life).

Yesterday his kids were visiting with me and Ruby at the fence, and the little boy said his Dad put a bunch of poison out for the squirrels (he said he put it "in the trees," but I'm not sure what he meant by that).  After I went inside, I told DH exactly what you said, Doug.  The poisoned squirrel carcasses may hurt other critters, and for every squirrel he kills, others will move in.  We're in a heavily treed suburban neighborhood, for cryin' out loud.  Squirrels are a part of life!  But, this is the same guy who goes around spraying his entire yard with tons of chemicals so there's not a weed or moss spot anywhere in the grass or beds.  The way he fights nature, I think he'd be happier in a city high rise.

    That cake looks absolutely delicious!

I hope Abbie is okay (my SIL's dog got into rat poison and was critically ill, but thankfully recovered).  Glad to hear Bugsy is home and on his way to a full recovery!

Cathy, I'm sorry about your friend's kitty.  Also, did you get the PM I sent you the other day?

Leftover pasta with lots of garlic for lunch today. I'm ready to eat it now!

    Glad Bugsy's on the mend!

I hope Abbie will be ok.

Our house has been infected with what I think is the norovirus. Sonja came home from daycare sick on Thursday (vomiting.) She was mellow and clingy/whiny on Friday, but appeared to be getting better. Then Saturday she had stomach cramps and diarrhea. Sunday she seemed to be getting better but was still mellow and not eating much.

DH & I had an overnight snowboarding trip with friends planned for Monday & Tuesday. I thought she was getting better Monday morning so we decided to go. MIL watched the kids. They went sledding with some neighbors and had fun. But after that Sonja had more issues... both ends. Monday night after snowboarding and eating dinner, DH got sick and was up all night. We got back Tuesday. Wednesday night MIL got sick, and last night Willa & I were up all night sick. I am SO. SICK. of this! Besides feeling awful while trying to deal with two sick kids, I still have a TON of work to catch up on. Crying

    Sorry, just had to vent!

Jan, that sounds absolutely horrible!  I hope you and Willa feel better soon and that all the sickness is over.

Tracy, your neighbor sounds like a real jerk. Sorry you've got to deal with the worry about Ruby getting a poisoned squirrel.

Hi Gin!  Hope you've been doing ok.

    • Gold Top Dog

(((Jan))) I hope you're all feeling better soon. My friend's grandson has really been fighting off some bug the last few weeks too. They even admitted him at one point and ran a bazillion tests to see what was going on but never could find anything. They said if he rebounds again, they're going to run even more tests. Very scary.

I'm guessing PM notifications aren't working because I never saw that Tracy had sent my anything. Just thought I'd mention that in case others are having problems.

I love my little squirrel friends and DH has become so fond of them that he goes out of his way to buy food that they like to put in the bird feeder. I'd be very angry if I found out anyone was poisoning them.

Karen so glad to hear that Bugsy's settled into his rehab room. Finally you are now on the road to recovery for him.

Do hope all is well with Abbie Julie.

All of those poisons scare the heck out of me and one reason is just what Doug has said. They can and do cause secondary poison.

Sorry about your friends kitty Cathy.

Jan, so sorry everyone is sick and especially feel bad for you being sick and still having to take care of everyone else. Hope this darn thing moves through your body fast, fast.

Tracy, sorry you are having to deal with your neighbor who is poisoning squirrels. That is scary. Do you think, if you told him the the possible danger to Ruby, he might decide to stop?

I am waiting anxiously for the darn canker sores in my mouth to heal. Hurts to talk and swallow.
