    TGIF

    finally here!  Yes!

Today is going to be absolutely insane.  And then tomorrow I have to go in long enough to interview a potentail sales guy.  But, then the rest of the weekend belongs to me.  Unless George comes up with even more insanity for me!

Hope everyone has a good day.

U h oh!  Hope the insanity lessens as the day goes on, Glenda!

I bought a blooming cactus while I was in Oklahoma, just for funs.  I brought it into my office this morning and noticed one of the blooms was crooked/falling off like I broke it. Then I looked closer.  The dang pink flower blooms had been GLUED ON!! lol  Gah!  I guess I wasn't paying attention when I bought the "pretty thing".  Whoops!

I'm not fooling around today - going straight for the Boilermakers come Tiki time.

I'm working from home today but debating on sneaking into the office to clear out my inbox and grab a few things that I have sitting on my desk to review. It is hard to just sneak in and sneak out though. Plus that means I would need to get out of my pjs ;p

They added another region for me to oversee at work. I am joking with my co-workers that it is all part of my plan to take over the world but in reality, oy! I don't know how I will manage it all. The thought of all the additional work that just got dumped on my lap is a bit overwhelming. My boss called me yesterday and says "I feel really bad calling you while you are out sick but I wanted you to hear this from me before the official email got sent out". I knew right then I was doomed and I crawled back into bed after the phone call. I do love my job though so I will make it work somehow and if it gets to be too much then they will just need to redistribute some duties.

ok, back to sorting through emails.

Wth, who does that? lol Note to self: don't buy any cacti while in OK

ETA: The squirrels are seriously tormenting poor Abbie today. They are climbing off the roof and trying to drop onto the bird feeder outside the bay window. Abbie is extremely upset and keeps whining, pacing between me and the window, then putting her head on my lap pleading with me to fix it

Paige, by blooming cactus, do you mean a Christmas cactus?

Julie, glad they told you about adding extra duties. I've had those surprises - oh, we were told you were supposed to do X. Really? Nobody mentioned it to me.

Deb, I don't blame you one bit. (((Hugs)))

I came very close to killing DS last night. Thank goodness for a friend who pulled me back from the edge.

Deb I may start now LOL

Paige I apologize but I am laughing about the flowers being glued on

Those of you who are on facebook I am running a special for my business to try to gather a bit of dough for vet bills. Please share it if you can.

My stress levels remain high as do DH's - lots of tension around this place. I need to work from here so I am a bit stuck. At least the dark clouds are on separate floors.

It is freaking cold here - 23* at nearly 7:30 this morning post sun up. I htink I heard it was 19* overnight. Um, ahem, Mother Nature this is Carolina. We don't do these temps at the end of March.

Our news page posted this photo with the story of the guy in OH who is upset about the lack of Spring weather

Tragedy. Unspeakable horror. The little fridge in the basement, known affectionately as the beer fridge, froze up. I don't know how cold it got, but the beer froze in the bottle. Becks dark. Piper doesn't care, but then she prefers Sam Adams . I didn't know that little fridge could get that cold. Pushed the caps right off the bottles. Most of the beer has been in there for about 2 years now. It was bought for my wifes' retirement party. As we are off to see the tax accountant today, we may have had a need for the beer. Oh well.

Grand daughter birthday tonight. She isn't feeling well, so just a small party.

Deb, I don't blame you for going straight for the pain killer and skipping the foo foo drinks.  Thinking of you and hoping you have a good weekend snuggling with Jameson.

Karen, you better join Deb or you might do something you'll maybe regret to your DH.  You guys need to chill and quit stressing out my Bugsy with all your silly human worries.  Hope that comes across as joking to make you smile.

Tina, sorry your DS is making you crazy enough to kill.

DH has come down with a cold.  I was really hoping we were through with all the sickness for a while.  I've been avoiding him as much as possible.  He got sort of upset when I yelled at him for pouring me a cup of coffee this morning.  "You got your cooties all over my coffee cup!!"  We had all sorts of fun plans for the weekend but I don't know if he'll be feeling up to any of them.  I guess I can always clean out the garage instead. :(

Paige, they saw you coming when they sold you that cactus plant.  lol   Glad you made it home safe and sound.

LOL about the glued on flower. Sorry Paige but that is funny!!

Super windy today, gusts near 40 mph, but sunny. I have a lot of stuff to get done this weekend, including taxes. Since I semi-retired but still work 1/2 time, I'm really nervous about how bad it's going to be.

(((Karen and Deb))) I'll join you both at the bar and try to cheer you up or at least buy the drinks.

Fo REALS!  It was a bloom sort of like these (the base looked more like the second picture):

Speaking of flowers, I also just found out that my mom had flowers sent to my hotel in Tulsa for me and I never received them!!!  One would think the hotel would have told me any of the times I stopped at the desk that I had a package waiting.  Sadface!  I love flowers!  My mom called them and apparently the flowers are in their refrigerator!!!  I am so bummed out!  I would have loved to have seen them!

Paige, the glued on flowers gave me a chuckle, too.  How goofy!  As for the hotel not telling you about the flower delivery -- that really stinks.  I'm sure they weren't cheap -- I'd be upset if I were you and your Mom!

Julie, sorry about the extra workload.  I don't think you said if it also comes with some extra wages.  From what I've seen myself and in my circle of people, staff are often asked to take on more work (usually from another staff person who was laid off for cost-cutting purposes) without any additional pay.

Deb, I'm sorry you've had a sad, tough week.  I hope the weekend brings you some better vibes (of the liquid and non-liquid variety).

Karen, good thing you have a 2-story house so you and DH can keep your distance!  I remember when we used to live in a tiny apartment and there was no way to get away from each other.  Even when things weren't tense, sometimes you just want your own space for a little while!  I'm always amazed by couples who work closely together everyday, like running a business or something.  I can't imagine being around each other 24/7 like that.  Not sure what that says about me and DH, but so be it.

Speaking of this topic, DH was going to spend the weekend with a friend (and take Ruby with him), but this morning he said he changed his mind.  I admit, I was kind of looking forward to having the house to myself!  Tongue Tied

Tracy, I really think your feelings about it are the rule rather than the exception and I don't believe it says anything bad about your and your DH. Heck, I didn't work with my DH, but always said if we just lived next door to each other instead of together, our marriage might have lasted. LOL

Tina, you actually have a good point!  One of my friends has been with her boyfriend for 15+ years.  They're committed and monogamous, but they've always lived in separate homes.  She lives in a busy part of town with her cats, he lives way out in the country with his dogs.  She has country getaways when she goes to stay with him, and he comes into the "city" for events and activities -- but neither would be happy in the other environment 100% of the time.  They have a good balance of time together and time on their own.  There are a few of us in our circle who think she's got the perfect arrangement!  Wink

Paige glad to hear you made it home safe and sound.
That is funny about the glued on flower.Big Smile

Karen continued good thoughts to you and Bugsy. Sorry for all of the stress you're having. Lucky you have the 2 story house..they do have their benefits.

Jackie, here's hoping you don't catch any of DH's cooties.

Good wishes to anyone else who might need them. Happy weekend to all.
