Chillin Thurs

Sweety Pie is working on a new command with us now. If we are in the basement and she doesn't want to use the stairs, she retires to the den and barks every couple of minutes until one of us appears. It's so cute.

    LOL!! Angel

My work day started off feeling mega-stressful. My desktop printer wouldn't print no matter how many times I reinstalled it and I need it specifically for some things I do. I had a ton of work staring at me while I tried to futz with it and was getting madder and madder when finally it was cured of whatever ailed it. No clue how or why. Then I was worried about adding postage to our meter because of some changes we'd made to our billing this week, so I thought I'd dial in for it and take Shane for a walk and hope for the best. I came back and it had added the postage just fine. A few min's later, I see not 1 but 2 UPS trucks pull up. I'd scheduled a pick-up for 17 boxes and the 2 guys just happened to both show up, so they helped each other out. They both said that never happens but seemed happy to not have to do it alone. I'd say that the my request to God to please give me a break this morning was heard loud and clear Big Smile

Karen - I'm starting the "good surgery" prayers again for Bugsy and for your safe travels.

Maybe she thinks he looks like Stuart Little. :)

A Police funeral with formal cerermonial honors is both beautiful and excruciating at the same time.  I have a feeling that I'm going to get really snookered tonight.

Just taking a quick mental health break as I inhale some mac n cheese. I am SO busy I think I'm going to need a feeding tube soon.

I was supposed to go grocery shopping today because we are out of everything and I just got paid, but I've been so busy I'm not sure I'll make it. I have to pick Willa up from school then bring her to dance class, then after that I have to pick up Sonja from daycare. They need baths tonight because they both have their annual checkups at the doctor tomorrow. Then my sister and her family will be in town this weekend so I won't get any work done. On Monday DH & I are going snowboarding and staying overnight. It will be nice to get away but I know I'll be stressing about all the work I should be doing! Ugh.

I thought today might be the funeral for the man you told us about the other day.  ((((hugs)))

It's snowing here, so I decided to make a pot of chili for supper :-)

    (((Deb)))

I'm headed to Delaware this weekend for a game in the women's NCAA tournament--yeah! A quick trip but it's always fun. Fingers crossed that UNC women'ts team makes the Sweet 16--that's played just 2 hours from here!

Hugs for all who need them. I think we're all ready for winter to be over!! (Jackie, I can't even imagine having tomato plants in the ground--wow!)

Karen, Riley has a habit of randomly naming people. She started calling my sister's boyfriend Uncle Stewart for some reason (his name is Keith). Now, that's what everyone calls him including some of his friends. LOL

HAHAHAHAH!!!  I started laughing at work!  Too funny.  The year after I graduated from HS, I lived with a friend who had a young son.  They had a lot of male friends who were Uncle Everything.  The poor kid was so confused he would call me Unca Paige, instead of Auntie Paige.  I have a lot of kids & friends who call me Auntie or NT now. lol

Karen, it's a bummer that you've got such a long drive, and yet on the flip side I am really thankful for you that Bugsy will get to see a specialist.  Top notch care for our top notch Bugsy!

I am sorry for the funeral.  :(  Reminds me I ought to contact my uncle to arrange a time to go see him.

Arrived home last night - took a day to avoid driving during the snow/ice coming down in the north east on Tues.  Good decision - roads were clean/dry and sun was out yesterday.  I'm so off today that I've forgotten to take lunch!  Whoopsies!

Holy crap I tell you if my and Bugsy's luck doesn't change soon!!  I finally got the check from the pet insurance company and they had divided it up into a zillion separate claims/conditions so they didn't have to pay out. Of course they assured me that wasn't the intent. Really??? I was born but it wasn't yesterday. So after about 45" with a "happiness manager" I should hear tomorrow what my check should be.

I am so stressed lately about a million things and DH is too. Not a recipe for a happy home. We are basically avoiding each other. Thank doG Bugsy is so happy LOL

Bugsy just needs to wear his Carolina gear when he goes up to Virginia. That will settle everything :-)

Paige, I'm glad you're home safely. Who sez an "older" dog can't do well at Nationals!?!  Sinbad thought it was fabulous!

hehehe!  On the AKC Facebook page people we commenting about the nice old senior Golden taking first place.  Well, he is exactly a month YOUNGER than Gracie is!! lol

Karen, thank goodness you are not the kind to just accept that crap about his bills!  WHAT THE HELL!!!!  Mind sharing which insurance provider it was?  (PM if you want)

It is Petplan who is the only one that will cover a second TPLO - all others claim if one has been done the other is a pre-existing condition. We purchased it to cover the large expense of a second TPLO, that thankfully we haven't had to use.

With this it is obvious that they are trying to separate things to force our obligation for  additional deductibles. The "happiness manager" called me back to say that they are going to cover only half of the sedation for his cortisone shot and xrays because a skin tag was removed at the same time. So therefore it was TWO separate conditions. A skin tag??? really? I asked her if when  customer asked for the nails to be done WHILE the dog is sedated for another procedure (because its convenient, similar to the skin tag) they remove liability for half the sedation. She never answered. I will admit to being one HOT customer with her. I know its never good to blow your cool but I am just so tired of having to battle every single step of this mess. I assured her I wouldn't ask for his nails to be clipped next week WHILE he was under because that would be a separate condition. Angry

And also let her know that they are nickel and diming despite her protestations otherwise.

Karen, that is simply nuts! I would go nuts with the "happiness manager" (and who invents these titles??)!

Paige, Gracie doesn't look "old" so she doesn't get "senior" credit. We are so proud of you and her (Team Gracie!).

Now there's under 1/4 mile visibility because of the snow! It's coming down fast and furious--big flakes and we're supposed to get it through the night! I'm not sure how much we're supposed to get--seems I need to get the shovel ready again.

WELL.... I would say that maybe this is a blessing in disguise that you can tell the specialist next week what happened.  Therefore, if they did do something "extraneous" like trim his nails, that they can bill you for that separately and thus give you just one clean bill to submit to the insurance?

(I am hoping for a bright side.)

The jackmonkeys.  I would have told them that the skin tag did not require sedation and therefore is irrelevant to the procedure for which he DID require sedation.  A holes.

Edit to add - Kate - are you in Rhode Island right now?  I have been so oblivious to the weather forecasts for here aside from my trip home.  I gotta tell you, I got in my car this morning to head to work and thought, "It was 84 degrees in Tulsa on Friday.  It's 24 degrees here in NH!  Phooey!"

    Oh I did, trust me!

and I wasn't going to ask for a nail trim, I just think removing the skin tag was a similar type request. It was from one of his harnesses and rubbed every time he wore it. Just made sense to have a pain free removal

Kate be safe and keep your electric!!

Great day for a walk in the sun:Entry to WMA

It was a farmstead once upon a time

Piper almost caught a couple of these once. Then she saw how big they were, up close. Doesn't chase them now.

    She does enjoy the outdoors.
