A Diamond in the Rough...on craigslist?

Wow!  He is gorgeous!  That's sad, really.  I think if I absolutely had to rehome a dog, Craig's List would be the last thing I'd think of. He looks like he's been well cared for and they did say he's used to being inside at night so at least he hasn't been chained to a tree 24/7.  Hopefully someone will snap him up and get him neutered

Why would someone want to give him up?  He seems very nice and well-behaved from the descriptions.  He's a pretty boy too, I hope he goes to a good home.

I thought that was rather large for a Dobe, too.  Here's the part of the AKC standard referring to size.  It says nothing about weight

Size, Proportion, Substance
Height at the withers: Dogs 26 to 28 inches, ideal about 27½ inches; Bitches 24 to 26 inches, ideal about 25½ inches. The height, measured vertically from the ground to the highest point of the withers, equalling the length measured horizontally from the forechest to the rear projection of the upper thigh. Length of head, neck and legs in proportion to length and depth of body.

Well judginy by the collar choice, area he is from, and the fact that the owner thinks unaltered is a good selling point makes me assume the owner has the mentality that bigger is better, LOL. I'm assuming he is exaggerating......people are so funny sometimes!

Actually when I posted that I had the same though!  Like people tend to think a GSD is a XXL, 100lb+ dog when in reality they should be 60-80 or so.  He doesn't really look overweight. 

Craigslist isn't completely bad. I routinely use it to rehome kittens I take in, in addition to courtesy listings on petfinder. I've actually found very good adopters that way. It's not the best resource, but sometimes it's the only one people think of.....Shame about the other male dog situation, but I know how that is - you see dogs you'd kill to take in, but circumstances don't always allow :( He is bee-oo--tiful!! 

OMG, he's gorgeous!  I hope that he finds a great home.
