    Kitty finally got caught

I been trying to tame down a stray kitty for quite awhile now for my dad who lost his kitty this summer. Yesterday I finally got the job done. What a cute kitten she is and my dad who lives alone says his life is complete again now that he has a kitty again. He was going to go to the shelter and get one but we have a no kill shelter here so I told him to just hang on to see if I could get the little stray caught. She needs a home too or she would end up smashed on the road as we live in town with teenagers who drive to fast and use kittens as targets.

Things are going great. Kitty has no name yet but she has a vet appointments for her shots and to get spayed. Also my dad has on order the greatest kitty toy. It hangs from the ceiling and cost 350.00. So you know kitty is going to have the best life from now on. She is no longer a stray she has a forever home.

I'm very glad the stray has a forever home! [:D]

But teens use kittens as speed bumps?  [:(]

Kudos to you for your patience and perserverance in rescuing that kitty and to your dad for giving her a wonderful home!

Yes, predominately white, male, low education, ages 17 to 24. Some of them purely hate cats. And never grow out of it. Reason being, partially, cats don't heed instruction like a dog, therefore, big tough white guy doesn't have control. Sometimes, just pure meanness. Like to song by Garth Brooks,

"He never hit the brakes and he was shiftin' gears ..."

I'm very glad to hear that. We did the same thing this last summer.

I've noticed the trend with many guys and their dislike of felines.  Honestly, I leaned towards cats before Roxie, but they're even now.

The dog who saw me through elementary and high school died a few years ago, and the pain was so great that I shut dogs out of my life.  I didn't think I'd ever want another dog after losing Bandit.  Well, Roxie came along and changed that.

Anyway, my point is that most other guys don't like cats very much, but I've always loved them.  Some men see cats as "wimpish pets," compared to "tough dogs."  Funny thing about that idea is how Trixie, a six pound kitten, can put Roxie, a 70 pound pup, in her place with a swipe of the paw. Many people (male and female) hate anything they can't dominate and/or bend to their way of thinking.  My attitude is, "Let them be cats" and we all get along fine!

One of my neighbors told me her DH doesn't like cats.  My tongue worked faster than my brain (a common occurance!) and I said, "I have noticed that meny of the people who don't like cats aren't as smart as cats." Boy, if looks could kill...I would have been charbroiled on the spot!
