I keep thinking today is Saturday...that's what happens when you are not a working girl and live alone with your dog!  So the title of this thread brings me back to reality.

My prayers have been answered...took a long time, but they were!  My son has accepted a permanent position with benefits with the company he has been working for since Christmas on a contract basis.  This is hopefully the end to about 5 years of instability and dashed promises.  Maybe the cycle is finally broken, and things will improve for his precious family now!

    Calling GLENDA...yoo hoo...we miss you!

Oh Marty that is FABULOUS news!

Cathy good luck and have fun at the BBQ - wish I could pop by!

Bugsy was upset with the storms yesterday but not horrible. There wasn't a lot of lightning which is what really bothers him. He actually was fine until we started having the electrical surges

Today was a long day. It amazes me how people create a situation and then are surprised when the worst comes true. Doh! Perhaps had you thought through the consequences of your actions you'd would have a better understanding of the right way forward

People complain about hours but turn down shifts (not just this one).  If I can't find anyone, I will have to do it.
I never had the option to turn these down, and when I was management, failure to show up for an overnight shift was called "job abandonment". No free bites. If I had to work it, the assigned person wasn't needed any longer.

    That's great Marty!

I don't know what to do with myself atm. Don't want to clean. Don't want to watch TV. Already exercised myself and the dogs. I'm part happy to have this peaceful break from chaos and responsibilities and have annoyed with myself that I didn't make plans with friends or something.

It might be a sign of aging when you're home from date night before 8 PM.  Big Smile  We had a nice dinner and a very nice time.  The dogs are zooming around the house like mad things. There's not much that can beat the joy shown by our dogs when we get home. :)

Marty, I'm so happy to hear about your son's situaton changing for the better.

Julie, I wish you were here.  We could take the dogs out and play in the rain.

    Bugsy wants in!!

DH met me nearby where I finished and we were home by 6 lol

It is a stupendous evening, unbelievably cool & dry for mid-June. I decided to take B for a walk and we happened upon my friends (the two vets), Bugsy loves their kids, a boy age 7 and a little girl age 4. We chatted for ages while the kids fed B sticks, leaves and grass. It was so funny, he would chomp on them and spit them out which amused the kids tremendously, which in turn amused us. Anyway we chatted for ages and I took B home.

We were home about 10 minutes and another neighbor stopped by with her 10 yr old. So Bugsy is now laid out, kids are exhausting lol

Jackie I love coming home to my goofy fur baby. The joy is unbridled!

He's dealt with some nasty racist comments with more class than most adults.  Go Sebastien Go! :)

It sounded to me like most of the idiots were complaining because he wore his Mariachi outfit, which to me is no different than wearing a boy scout uniform.  He's part of a Mariachi band and he loves the outfit, so why shouldn't he wear it anywhere he wants? They were showing some poor farmer in the midwest on the news earlier.  Last year he lost most of his crop to the drought and this year they've had so much rain that a big pond formed in the middle of his field and his crop is screwed up again.

We seem to be looking at mid to high 80s for the weekend, which is good! That thunderstorm we had last weekend apparently sparked about four fires in and around Sacramento so we'll hope for no more lightening unless it's really going to pour, which is unlikely at this time of year.

Just settling in from a very, very long and busy day. I don't dare complain since DH and his friend did way more than I did. DH also had a busy 48 hr shift that he'd just gotten off from, so I don't know how or why he's still awake. We got some things in place that really made it start to look and feel like home, so that was nice.

I had to leave for my hair appt and found myself worrying about Shane and DH keeping an eye on him. Shane tends to stay 3 or 4 feet in front of or behind you, but I still worried. He did fine though and is now completely zonked out.

I know this falls in the TMI area but I used the bathroom right before we headed to the new house about 11 and it's almost 8 and I just used it again. I think I need to work harder on staying hydrated.

Jackie - have fun at the doggie dash. We had one last Saturday and I'd have gone if I hadn't been working at Horse Expo. It looked like a lot of fun.

Lol Cathy, yes you need to drink more water.
