Yay for siding and Yay for Voodoo Cooler!

Today is my last day at Timberland, along w/some other coworkers in IT.  Went out as a group last night and enjoyed seeing past IT folks come back to visit, too.  Good people!  I get an extra long weekend and then start my new job on Tuesday.  Back to wearing dresses and formal business attire, but, money is money.  Also closer to home so I could get a puppy and take care of mid-day outs if I needed to.  (Yeah, right, I don't need a puppy!)

Currently dog/cat/house sitting for my friends/housemates who are in China, so I've got the place to myself until the end of June.  I can't wait to sit out back in the training field and sun myself ALL weekend!  Must stock up on alcohol!

This is why I more than tolerate my boss. Here is an Instant message he sent to me. "AN" is Pres of one of the divisions.

Had my budget mtg w AN - you, my dear, rock !!! Your idea about including projected dollars around projects in Q3-4 was perfect !!! Thanks, baby cakes.

Plus, just found the ellusive bottle of scotch for hubby's b-day. It better be worth it, because I almost chocked when they told me how much. Stupid Michigan liquor regulation laws. I should have looked it up first LOL

P.S. I am 1000% OK with him calling me baby cakes. It's our inside joke. LOL

Cathy, look at it this way.  The oven wasn't very new since the parts weren't available and it probably would have crapped out on you at the worst possible time, like fixing a big meal for company.

No, it's not too early to start drinking.  I'm ready to knock back a few myself if I have to keep explaining the same thing over and over and over and still getting the "whut?" response.

Paige, enjoy your weekend and good luck on resisting a puppy. :)

    That's a great point, Jackie!

Paige, good luck at your new job.  Having a shorter commute will be a big plus (despite having to go back to wearing "formal" office attire).  Think of the lower stress you'll have in winter and you don't have to drive so far on snowy, icy roads.

Lisa, the message from your boss was great.  Genuine recognition for a job well done (beyond just a casual "thanks" thrown at you) is so nice, and unfortunately a lot of bosses don't express it enough to their staff.  Good for you!

Paige that is awesome!! Lisa -- that ain't no "form" email -- that was GEN-U-Wine!!! LOL How absolutely cool! Jackie -- you are **absolutely** right -- I've made do with a crappy stove -- it's not fun and bites at the worst times. Besides -- this way you get to start with what YOU want!! Dang -- I'm back to spasms in my back/leg again which has triggered more 'ralphing' (to be honest my tummy is still to iffy to type the "v" word) I'm glad I've been to three different doctors -- at least I know what it is. But good heavens I'm sick of this.

Got home a bit before 3. We really did pretty well on time getting back. I seriously need to teach my friend more about road tripping. Our ETA home was about 2:45. We stopped around 11 to get gas. I made sure to pick a place to stop for gas that would have a bathroom (Wawa). At that point, we were about 40 miles south of DC. When we were stopping, my friend mentioned something about stopping after DC to go to the bathroom. Umm... no. That's why we're going to stop at a place that will have a bathroom now. If I am going to get off the highway, we are going to the bathroom whether we have to go or not. You can make yourself go at least a little bit. If we were going to stop, I had no intention of stopping again that soon (and would have probably waited till we got up to Chesapeake house). We had plenty of food and drinks packed into the car too so that we could make it without stopping for food. We did end up driving all the way through after that one stop.

Same here.  I started to say something earlier but decided to keep my big mouth shut. Glad I did. :)
