Mindless Sunday

    Mindless Sunday

Busy weekend! Jackie glad you aren't affected by the flooding much. That's a lot of rain in such a short period. Last night we did some practice searches in an d building. It was a church when it was first built then it was turned into a dance club, now it's sort of a machine shop.. It was a little bit creepy and a lot cool. Today I need to weed! My flower beds are pretty over grown in places. I also need to make curtains for my little trailer. And go shopping for a few camp supplies since we have our first camping trip scheduled in 2 weeks. I hope the weather warms up! I'm tired of 40* nights! Abbie keeps chewing on her injured paw. *annoying

Abbie, stop chewing on your paw or it will never heal.  I hope the weather warms up for you Julie.

I got up early and got the grocery shopping done.  Most of our meals will revolve around our homegrown tomatoes, peppers and basil for the next few weeks.  Yum.  When I came out of the store I realized it had rained while I was inside.  We don't need any more rain for a while but it looks like we may get more before it's all over.  We didn't get near the amount that fell in some parts of town.

Breakfast was an omelette with tomatoes, peppers and onions. :)

I love that we have another day off work so this is kind of like Saturday instead of Sunday.  It's way to soggy to work in the yard and I don't feel like house cleaning.  Maybe we'll take the dogs somewhere and let them get all muddy.  Like the backyard. lol

Jackie - I'm glad the massive amounts of rain haven't caused you any serious problems. I'm green with envy over your homegrown tomatoes. Next year, I'll have plenty of room for a veggie garden.

Abbie - leave your paw alone please.

I went grocery shopping early too. They've been rearranging the store for the last few weeks and every time I go, I wander around looking for every little thing. Annoying!!

It's sunny but windy again. DH hates riding his bike in the wind but hasn't had much choice the last few weeks. He'll be gone for a few hours, so I'll take Shane for a long walk and then do some stuff around the house.

Until Shane has his walk with me (DH takes him 1st thing in the morning), he stays glued to my side and watches every move I make. If I even shift my weight, his head pops up like "now? are we going now?" LOL!

Abby please stop chewing your paw!

Jackie I am sorry the rain I sent was overkill lol - yea for muddy dogs!

I was up early - what else- vacuumed, dusted, put some drapes in the wash and took Beastie swimming. Lots was going on down there and he had quite the audience. He soaked up all the interest and admiration before I loaded him back up. He probably swam 25-30 minutes, with one short break. It's so strange that he once again can swim without too much discomfort but our walks still really bother him. I am VERY anxious to see the surgeon on Tuesday, less anxious to be up at 4 and on the road @5.

DH is working in the yard and then we are supposed to go to one of the downtown hangouts, I already feel ready for a nap lol

Cathy that is exactly how B is from the moment I get up in the morning, every move might = walk so I am under close scrutiny :)

Jackie that sounds yum! In fact, I love just tomato, onion, green pepper, some cucumber, feta and Greek dressing and that's the best lunch ever!! Poor Abby -- darned sore paw. My dogs are all veg'd out as well. David's doing "honey-do" stuff. I'm still 'resting' but doing a bit more every day.

Luke went out and tried lure coursing this morning, which he thought was pretty great. The place we went to can't offer AKC events at the moment, but there is another one near us that does. I might just look into a Coursing Ability Test for him.

After that, we headed up to a family picnic. We didn't get to bring my niece, because my brother in law is a complete douchebag. We ended up telling my sister today to find someone else to watch her. Not because we want her to, but hopefully to force her to finally deal with her idiot. Her story today was that he "hacked" into her email and texts, and read stuff, and was mad at my parents about it. Hacking implies he actually put effort into it, and not that you left it laying around for him to pick up and get into. Secondly, if your husband actually hacks into your things, and then you treat your family like crap to appease him, you have bigger issues.

Aside from that crap, it was pretty good, although my face is sunburned.

Jen, I'm sorry the situation with your sister is so difficult.  It's one thing if a person makes decisions (or doesn't make them) that negatively affect her life, but it's a whole different story when it's affecting someone who can't avoid those effects (your niece).  I can't imagine how frustrating and upsetting it is for all of you.

I saw the news reports of the heavy rain and floods in TX.  Glad you weren't directly affected, Jackie.  I also saw the reports of the snow in upstate New York and New Hampshire.  Crazy weather!

We had a good time in Sisters with our friends.  Ruby and their dog had a ball wrestling (sometimes it sounds like fighting, but they both just play roughly).  We walked on the trails near their house -- such a gorgeous area -- lots of pine trees and views of the mountains.  We saw lots of people walking with dogs or bicycling.  We also went by a meadow with several horses, and one trail had several chipmunks that were coming right up to our feet, looking for treats.  So cute!  DH went in the hot tub about 6AM and saw deer passing by.  I stayed in bed, needless to say!

After our long drive home, we decided just to get take out tonight.  I'm heading out to our favorite Thai place now!
