Sunday Chatting

    Sunday Chatting

Hope everyone is sleeping in or out enjoying their Sunday.  :)

We just finished trimming and mowing the front and back yard.  I sometimes wish we had a huge yard but other times I'm glad for our small little yard.  Very humid this morning and warm.   We feel our age when we finish that chore but it sure looks nice compared to what it looked like before.

I did remember to watch the Preakness yesterday.  Good race and the winner paid pretty good, I think.  lol  What I know about horse racing you could fit on the head of a pin.

I'm off to the grocery store in a few minutes.  Exciting life I live, eh?  :)

I decided to replace my tv last night. My new toy is so much bigger. It's 24 inches, don't think I got anything huge, but I think the old one was 13 or 15 inches. The biggest tv in the house is 26 inches. The picture doesn't look like the colors are off at certain angles either. This is as big as will fit on my shelf though, and I wanted to keep it under $200.

So, out of Luke's demo yesterday, I think he's got a spot for the tournament next month. I'll have to follow up with a friend on that. His spot will just be a back up/warm up, but I wanted to get him something, just out of spite. He did well, and he was able to catch the ball, so it seems that issue is resolved. It rained on the a bit, and they didn't really get a crowd, but the dogs had fun.

I need to get up off my butt and get dressed soon, because I want pizza for lunch. I think I am heading to my favorite place Target to get some Pizza Hut pizza and breadsticks. If I do go, that'll be 3 times in 2 days. Tonight for dinner, I'm taking my mom to Houlihan's after work since we didn't go last week.

I can't remember if I posted this yesterday, but ever since I went to the doctor, I've got the cough-vomit thing worse. Now it's an at least once a day occurrence.  Now, my debate is whether to go back tomorrow. My google doctoring says the most common thing that would be a symptom of is whooping cough. If that is indeed what I have, a Z-Pak is pretty much all they can do for me. It actually wouldn't help me, it would just make me not contagious.  The other common possibilities, I've pretty much already been treated for with the Z-Pak, and there is nothing else to do to actually help me. Cough syrup won't help me, because even if it didn't taste nasty, it's not keeping me up at night. I don't want to pay another copay if it's not actually going to help me.

Another quiet morning here, I see.  Hope everyone is enjoying a nice relaxing Sunday.

My friend is on her way over and we'll take Ruby with us on our walk.  It's cloudy and supposed to rain a bit today, but hopefully all we get is drizzle on our walk.  I hate walking in rain, and Ruby really hates it.

Jackie, my knowledge of horse racing could probably fit on the head of the same pin as yours!

I watched the movie, "Win Win" last night (with Paul Giamatti).  It's a couple years old -- I think he was nominated for a Golden Globe or Oscar for it.  It's a comedy, but a poignant one, not a slap-stick one.  I really liked it -- it was good.  And his wife was played by Amy Ryan, the actress who played Holly on The Office (she ended up marrying Michael, Steve Carrell's character).

Jen, enjoy your new larger TV.  It's amazing how different TV watching feels when you go up in screen size.  You wonder how you got along before.  Glad to hear Luke's got a spot and that he caught the ball.  I'm sorry you're still having so much coughing and vomiting.  It's frustrating not to have improvement despite going to the doctor.  Sending healthy vibes your way!

This weekend has been pretty relaxing and the weather is perfect. Yesterday a friend and I went to an Amish town in IN and did some shopping. I got a cute necklace, a couple dog things and the best cheese and sausage on the planet. The rest of the time we spent outdoors on their property playing around with the dogs, hiking, having campfires and so on. Perfect. My friends have 3 greyhounds plus a bloodhound. My dogs are pals with the bloodhound but we never let the greyhounds in on the fun mostly because my dogs play so rough and greyhounds have such thin skin. Yesterday we decided to give it a whirl and let them all outside to play together. It went great. Those greyhounds are such good dogs. It's so odd to see what lazy bums they are too. 5 mins of running /playing and they sleep the rest of the day. They would make the perfect dogs for an inactive person, older couple or what have you. They are sooooooo mellow and chill.

Hi everyone.  Since it started raining this morning I've done the indoor version of playing in the dirt, repotting some root bound plants and not much else.  Well, laundry of course.  THAT never seems to end.

Waiting on RSVP's from the staff so I can set up our anniversary lunchion for the paper.  DH and I will celebrate our 30th on Tuesday.  While it seems like we've always been part of each others lives, I wonder where the heck 30 years have gone!

Raining here too, so I decided to watch a dog movie.  Lordy, I didn't know "Hachi" was going to be such a tearjerker!

Houlihan's was pretty good. Now I'm sitting at home watching Switched at Birth on Netflix on my new TV, and slowly folding laundry.

Damn my neighbors blast the music. I'm in my basement, and I can hear it. Please, don't pay the rent or something and get booted out. In other notes, the same idiot neighbors came over earlier today and asked if we had any diapers. Somebody was over there house with a baby, and came with no diapers. What kind of idiot goes somewhere without diapers for a kid in diapers? The only reason we actually do have any diapers is because my niece does still sleep in them. Otherwise, she hasn't worn diapers since last summer.

Good question!  I hope it was just a fluke and not the kind of inattentive parenting that poor baby is going to experience permanently.

Marty, I won't watch the "Hatchi" movie after my husband's friend called him right after watching it, saying he could barely pull himself together!  If a 50+ year old guy had a hard time, then I'd probably choke myself to death from sobbing!  Tongue Tied

DH is making this awesome sounding recipe out of a Portland based magazine called "Mix."  It's mostly about food and drink in the Portland area, and this month's issue had several comfort food recipes from chefs in local restaurants.  He's making the one called "Bucatini and Meatballs."  Meatballs from scratch (beef and pork), a tomato sauce with lots of garlic and spices . . . I"ve been drooling for it all day, but I'll have to wait another couple hours to eat it.  It smells so good in here right now!

Hopefully these people don't regularly leave home without diapers, but they are related to the same idiots who blast their music so loud I can hear it in the basement. Plus, the grocery store is less than 10 minutes away. Even if you left home without diapers, because you actually ran out, wouldn't you stop on the way and grab a pack? And you just happen to be lucky that the neighbors of the people you are visiting keep a 2 year old often enough to have diapers, and I guess they figured what we might have would fit this kid, because said 2 year old is a peanut. She only wears size 3 diapers.

I really need to get my laundry off my bed and put it away.

Scheduled a full leg wax for Monday for both myself and my roommate. It's a person just starting out so they need the practice which means cheap prices Big Smile 20$ for both legs, can't complain. And I hate shaving with a passion.....
