Lisa I am so very sorry -

    tacran
Even when it's expected, it's still very sad, especially when you know her little boys are dealing with something no young child should have to experience.  Sending strong vibes to everyone in the family, and to you and your coworkers, who are hurting, too.
    Tracy you read my mind.

Lisa -- I've had Maureen on my printer for months -- I am honestly in tears.  I just wish I knew the family "for real".  Young mothers just shouldn't leave tragically.  We all know bad stuff happens to good people, but it is just so sad.

Deb -- Walgreens can be such jerks -- what Tracy says is true.  Use the webiste *but* in honesty don't expect much.  I've been round and round with them over various things in the past few years -- always I'm promised an apology, etc. Never happens.

I've learned the hard way with them to get names, etc. when you have a problem.  They make SO many mistakes - some potentially life-threatening.  But if you call you won't get TO the store - you'll get their call center.  They'll blame the store. But when you talk to the store they'll blame the call center.  it gets REALLY old really quick.

Tina -- *sigh* I'm sorry.  There are times running away truly has BIG charm.  Just make sure it's a cash lottery and leave no forwarding address.

Very sorry about your coworker, Lisa.  I can't imagine what her family is going through.  Crying

Deb, that's insane about the prescription foul up but these days I expect the worst when dealing with insurance companies and pharmacies.  I hope they've got it figured out by the time you show up.

I hope all goes well with the house, Cathy.  The bid tabulations are supposed to be posted tomorrow but a lot of bid tabs get posted with the words "pending review".  Sad

Busy day here with the warm weather and high humidity making the a/c's work hard.  I'm wound pretty tight and having trouble keeping a smile in my voice on the phone.

Lisa - I'm so sorry and pray that Maureen's family will be surrounded with love and support. Having lost my mom when I was so young, I know how devastating this can be :(.

re: ticks - I've never lived anywhere that I had to worry about them unless I went off the beaten path. If we move though, I plan to take Shane to the lake as often as possible and will need to do something preventative.

A friend is having a garage sale this weekend, so I asked DH if he wanted to get rid of his skis and poles that are sitting in the garage collecting dust. He's never used them since I've known him and that's 15 or 16 yrs but he says his friend goes and he might want to join him one of these days. Yeah, right! *sigh*

Cathy, I can relate to the dusty skis story.  DH had lots of camping equipment (tents, heavy-duty backpacks, etc.) that gathered dust in a closet in our first apartment, then in a garage in our first house.  We had some yard sales during that time, but like your DH, he wanted to save them for "future use."  On our THIRD cross-country move, I finally convinced him to donate them to a local Boy Scout Troop.  Now I have that problem with an expensive bicycle that he rode for one summer but now sits idle in the garage.  I call it the "spider condominium complex" (since they've moved in with plenty of webs the past 2 years).  Will he sell it?  Nope, he's "going to ride it one of these days."  Confused

Well, it's 3:15 on the east coast.  Has anyone heard news reports of a woman raising a ruckus in a Jersey Walgreen's?  If not, I guess we can assume Deb got her meds without further problems!  Wink

    LOL

Jackie, tomorrow is Friday. You have access to great margaritas - so you shared. It won't be long now!

I on the other hand am working on a huge paper and time is ticking.............. I haven't pulled much together to leave in the morning yet and I am meeting a friend tonight at a local restaurant that is donating 20% of all tabs to the SPCA and has $15 jug o margaritas. Big Smile

In another little bit of happy news - the vet that did the 'failed' operation on Bugsy emailed today to see how he went on. I didn't really expect to hear from him again. I knew he was a good guy and that I hadn't taken B to a total nutcase LOL

    its hot

Thanks everyone. It is so sad about Maureen - I had a good cry with my work bestie and feel better. I glad her pain is over though. Callie, thank you so much for everything. I know you have been thinking about her since the beginning and your emails were wonderful.

In lighter news, I went to the docs and at first he said, yes you need stitches. Then when he got the details of the incident and I told him it happened last night he put the brakes on. He said that after 12 hours you can't get stitches since it sky rockets your chance for infection. So in order to speed up the healing process I have my thumb restrained against the palm of my hand so I stop stretching the wound. That I can do in Vegas with the exception of the pool. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Next time I will go to Urgent care right away.

Glad you heard back from the doc Karen - I thought about putting a *** curse on him -- cause I was thinking about it after the failed attempt.

Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear about Maureen. Special thoughts and prayers for her boys and husband.

Good thoughts for the folks in Texas, too. The pictures of the tornado damage are just unbelievable. Seems that whole corridor is going to be in the path of bad storms this weekend.

I am ready to bail out Deb. Or, to pass her the vodka--or both!

Margaritas sounds good. I'll take a jug, please!

I just heard from Janet Rose and she's ok -- she actually does a bunch of emergency work and she says she's been slammed since the explosion in West (she's actually in North Dallas County) - Gina's pretty near Dallas isn't she?
