Five grand a month per person?! Holy moly who can afford that? Indifferent

Aaron is so. CUTE! Seriously, I would like to put him in my pocket and take him home. Stick out tongue

It's snowing off and on today. I am so sick of winter!

Willa is on spring break this week, but Sonja still had/has daycare Wed & Thurs. My mom is watching Willa in the mornings so I can get some work done. Yesterday morning, Willa and I were dropping off Sonja at daycare. There was a note on the door to not let Diesel out (black lab, almost a year old.) I opened the door and there he was, wiggly wagging and shoving his face and the attached soft cone of shame at me. lol! He just got "tutored" and was supposed to be laying low.

So anyway, on the car ride to my mom's, Willa was asking about why he had to wear that. I explained that he had a small surgery and the cone kept him from licking the owie and breaking open the stitches. She asked why he had surgery. It went a little something like this:

Me: It's called getting neutered. It's a good thing to do for your dog because it make it so they can't have puppies. Sometimes you can't find homes for all the puppies, that's why there are dogs at the shelter. (I wasn't about to go into health testing, temperament, and conformation. lol) Diesel had a surgery so that he can't have puppies.

W: But boy dogs can't have puppies.

Me: Um, yes that's right, but um... (Oh s***. I wasn't about to go into the birds and bees with someone who just turned five!) Well, but boy dogs help to make the puppies. Hey, Gramma said she's making grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch! She even made the bread!

Steph, he doesn't look too thrilled about that hat.

That's because I am not fast enough w/ the camera (or anything in his opinion Wink ).  He was smiling at first and looking around, but by the time I got the phone out and the camera working he was over being smiley.  That serious face is his normal expression, if he really didn't like it he has NO qualms about let us know.... loudly. Indifferent

Oh Bugsy!  You're not gonna make this healing process easy, are you?

ETA: LOL, Jan!  Nice distraction :)

It is sleeting here. Sleet in April in east/central NC. Not good

    LOL Jan!

LOL Jan!! Thanks for making me laugh this morning.

    Aaron is adorable!!!

Poured this morning but is tapering off a little now. We need the rain, so I won't complain.

On my drive in, I decided to call my BFF and chat. My bluetooth wouldn't connect with the car for some reason though, so I hung up. I fiddled around and got it working and decided to check a VM msg I had. It kept saying to enter my password and press the # key but after 3 tries, it said there was an error and to try again later. Okay. So, I get to work and try to log into Kaiser because they'd left me a VM msg saying they'd sent me a msg from my dr. It wouldn't let me in and said my account was locked and I needed to call to have the password reset. I did and got in, VM worked once I was in the office and all is good now but holy cow, what a way to start the day - ugh!!

Jan - that was a classic move!!

Julie - I almost wish they would move her to Bloomfield since she would be a lot closer than near Traverse where they live.  I did have to blink when I saw that price WOWZA!!  Now I know why some eldery folks prefer to retire to cruise ships - it's probably cheaper.

Janice, your post was hilarious! It reminds me of that ad on TV,  I think it's for a car company).  The Dad is driving and the kid is asking about the birds and the bees. The Dad starts giving this convoluted (and not quite transparent) answer, and when the kid asks one pointed question too many, the Dad instructs the stereo system to play "Wheels on the Bus," and he starts singing loudly.  Too funny!

Steph, those pics are so cute.  Love the stylish sneakers, and the hat photo cracked me up.  I also had to laugh at your description of your step-daughter spinning around looking at the clouds during the ball game.  I remember as a very young kid sitting in the outfield, picking clover flowers instead of watching for the ball.  My aversion to athletic activities was evident even at age 8!

Count me in the group with severe sinus/allergy headaches.  Yesterday I thought my head was in a vice all afternoon.  It was still throbbing when I went to bed, even after ibuprofen.  Today it's a bit better, but my eyes still feel like there's sand in them.  It started raining last night (first time in several days), so that should help with the pollen issues.

OMG, someone please replace Staples' "easy" button with a "stupid" button. Angry
    • Gold Top Dog

Tina, do you need a "stupid" button to push when dealing with someone in particular, or a "stupid" sign for them to wear?!

Try some chocolate to see if it helps relieve some of your work frustration.  It can't hurt, right?  Wink

I think their accounts receivable dept needs a STUPID sign. I send payments with the remit forms and the invoice info on the check to boot and they still can't apply them right. This happens repeatedly. Maybe I need to go work in their receivables dept. and apply our own payments. GAH!

I'm going home. Chocolate and whatever adult beverage I can scrounge up.

Could see that one coming Jan....too funny. Thanks for sharing a cute story.

I've got the sinus headache problem as well. Mine hasn't been too bad, it just seems to last for days. I've cut back on the ibuprofen though and I take tylenol. Not sure why I keep taking it, as it never seems to work. Keep hoping it will I guess. I've cut back on ibuprofen though, because at my last Doctors appointment  he told me there is quite a concern now that ibuprofen is not good for the heart. They are not talking about people who already have heart problems, they are talking of anyone taking it. And I don't believe they are they are talking of people who take it every day. I think generally speaking, they are thinking it is more dangerous for the heart than they'd thought. I asked him if I should not take it at all and his response, as it has been for other meds, was that you go to your medicine cabinet and say, is the benefit going to outweigh the risks from taking it. So, there are some days that I've taken it and others that I've thought again about and decided not too. Just thought, if any others hadn't heard about this, it is something to think about, or ask your own doctor and see what they say about it. Might be a totally different view point.

Omg I would kill to have a "that was stupid" button on my desk at work

Jan that was a great diversion tactic! Lol

I'm annoyed with work. My boss told me that I might be getting my cube moved so our new people can move in and be by their mentors. F that. I like where I am at. It is at the hub of all the lively discussions. Where they want to move me is next to the copier. Seriously. No. I expressed my extreme dislike of the idea to my boss and he is going to try to fight for me but says it is over his head and he might not have a say. Grrr. New people should have to sit by copiers. where is that stupid button

Seriously!  There are probably millions of people who don't come close to even bringing home $5K a month.

    Steph, Aaron is absolutely adorable.

Tina, congrats on mastering the DVR.  I swear if I had to cut  back on appliances, I'd happily give up the oven rather than part with the DVR cable box.

Jan, that story is hilarious!  When I was 18 I bought a little doxie from a newspaper ad for about $10.  After he was neutered, my younger sister who was about 6 asked my mom what the stitches were for and my mom told her he had his tonsils out. Indifferent So my sister asked why the stitches were "way down there" and my mom told her that tonsils have very long roots. Talk about quick thinking!

I'm totally with you on that one, Joyce!!  We have 2 DVRs -- it's required for marital harmony!
