Thanks all - he is a tough nut. We were told it would take a while before he'd be happy to walk but he's been walking since the morning after :)

Is the gait issue just due to post-op pain, or is it also a general weakness that will go away as he builds more strength around the surgical areas?
I presume both at this point Tracy
He IS in pain and it gets worse as the day moves on but he keeps on walking :)
He has also lost lots of muscle in that leg. I am sure that will take a long time to normalize but each step helps. Additionally the one tendon that they 'released' controls a particular movement and if you watch he sort of slings the lower portion of the leg. I believe that is because the muscles need to adapt to not have the tendon there.
Its so easy to take videos now I will no doubt be taking them along the way to look at the progress and to send to the doctor because he is so far away
