Late getting here today. I feel like I wasted the entire day, but I guess in a good way. My MIL wasn't feeling very well and not up to getting together for a meal, so for the first time in AGES, we went to someone else's house for a holiday meal. My friend served a nice brunch for her family. It was nice to have a gathering early enough in the day so we were home by 1:30.
Another insanely gorgeous day today -- high of 76, sunny. Other than one load of laundry and vacuuming, I did nothing productive. I sat in the yard and read, talked to my neighbors, and generally remained lazy.
I heard about that Louisville player's injury, Karen. I'm so glad I wasn't watching it. I will never forgot the sight of seeing Joe Theisman's injury when it happened. I don't want another image like that in my mind's eye.
Jen, I know of a few men like your friend's Dad. My friend's Mom had surgery years ago and was out of commission for a while. My friend and her sister had to go back home and get him meals while her Mom recovered. Another woman I know had to prepare and freeze meals when she went out of town, labeled in containers in the freezer for her husband.
Honestly, in this day and age, there's no excuse for not being able to get your own meals. Sure, I understand the not cooking thing (I avoid cooking), but like you said, if you can dial a phone, then order pizza or take-out. And all the major grocery stores have plenty of good things to take home from their prepared foods and deli counters. I will say that women have some of the blame for this problem by letting the men be that dependent on them.
Watch out for the April Fools jokes tomorrow!
