Monday chat

Well gosh.  Looks like not the best of Monday's.

Karen, you know you've all got sorts of great vibes heading your way.  You'll be in our thots and prayers, and B too of course.

Sharon, very sorry to hear about your job.

I'm actually having a good day, so will keep my happy day to myself..............

Glenda, share the happiness is what I say!

Despite the whole job thing, I'm in a good mood today.  I'm also very hungry today.  I actually had breakfast (not typical for me), a morning snack, lunch (frozen meal), and a second lunch (large bowl of soup).  I'm still flipping hungry!

but I did have something interesting happen on my way to work this AM.  Not long after I left our neighborhood, a huge SUV came barreling up behind me and sat on my bumper.  I was not driving slowly; in fact, I was probably going 2-3 MPH above the limit (on a 2-lane road, near a school, not a high speed area).  When I reached a light, I thought the woman would rear-end me, she was that close.  I turned off to get my blueberry scone, and she zoomed past.  A few minutes later, I was about 2 miles further down the road, and I saw flashing lights.  Lo and behold, a motorcycle cop had pulled over Ms. Speedy.  I know it shows that I'm immature and vindictive, but that really made my day!  I smiled the rest of my way in to work!

Hey Tracy, I started smiling as soon as you started telling the story, thinking the interesting thing just may have been the woman getting stopped. Then when I realized I was correct, I really smiled. Smile

Maureen, I thought the warm blueberry scone I got at the bakery was how I would help improve my Monday-morning-going-to-work mood.  Little did I know I'd have something else to make me happier (and lower calorie, too)!

Hi Barb - Nice to see you!  Hope you and the Hooligans are doing well and that your foot issue is all cleared up!

    FRIENDS!

It is OFFICIALLY my spring break!!!! Graduate school and work have been ruling my life. I think I said that the last time I stopped in, which was winter break. Anyway, I am now down to taking two graduate classes at one time - from FOUR. AT. A. TIME. Two are finished, thank goodness. One was a Saturday class from 8:30AM-5:30PM, five Saturdays in a row. I had to relent the last 3 Saturdays and left DH very clearly marked piles of sorted laundry to accomplish while I was gone. BUT that class is behind me (with a grade of "A-", boo!) and now I only have two classes left between me and graduation! I also took the state certification test for Reading and passed :)

I have deactivated my FB account - it has been, on and off, since Winter Break! - so I need to know what the scoop is! WTH is Bugsy having surgery?!?!

Pirate and Wendy are the same as always. I do have a funny Pirate story. We have a mobile groomer who is amazing! She came over a couple weekends ago and started getting set up. She always starts by giving Wendy a bath, and then while her assistant is drying Wendy, she gives Pirate a bath. I brought Wendy out first, and about half an hour later she was ready for Pirate. I checked all of Pirate's usual hiding places - crate, my bed, couch, etc. and couldn't find him. I looked again and still didn't see him. I was starting to worry that he slipped out the door while the groomer was setting up. Finally I checked the guest bedroom and I peeked into little bro's room - and THERE HE WAS. Pirate decided to hide in little bro's room!! He usually NEVER goes there and I guess he thought I wouldn't look!

Hope everyone is well!! Catch me up! :)

Sharon I hope the hours being cut isn't too bad

About the ant traps, aren't you guys worried about your dogs eating them? Abbie will eat almost anything and I am afraid she will get poisoned

    Hi meg!

Hey Meg!! It's a long story with B - I'll pm you or email..........if I still have your email

Julie ant traps are very attractive to dogs - they are very sweet I am told. We used a few when B was a pup and no matter where we put them, he would somehow get to them and run around taunting us with it  - he isn't one to eat stuff though so we got away with it

Speaking of B he is never far from me, crying and whining. He watched me pack and gather stuff including his little bag. Apparently he is ready for his roadtrip. NOW!!

Safe travels, Karen, and be careful driving.  You and Bugsy will never be far from our thoughts and prayers.

Since when did a 5lb bag of sugar turn into 4 lb?  I don't buy it often, but somehow I felt robbed!

It was cold and windy today...hope it changes before the weekend.  I bought my granddaughters sundresses for Easter, and I would hate to see them covered up with raggedy winter jackets...lol!  Winter just seems to be dragging for everybody!  The lawn company I hired came to mow today, but there wasn't much to mow.  I'm paying for it, so I let them do their thing!  It seemed silly, but contracts are contracts!

Last season of DWTS, my neighbor used to come over and watch with us, because her tv got screwed up and she couldn't get it on. She's 80 something. A few weeks ago, her kids moved her out of her house, so that they can sell it or rent it out or something because they need the money. Not because she needed assistance, but because they needed money. The one she went to live with couldn't bother to sell his second home. She'd lived there almost 30 years. Anyway, it's DWTS day, and I'm missing her today. Despite being so far apart in age, we often had the same criticisms. We do have the phone number there at her sons, and it's not far away. I wanna go get her to watch DWTS, except I don't want to drive really late tonight with the snow. I'm also not sure how she would feel about it. Damn her stupid sons. Luke liked watching with her too. The others always stayed in their crates because they get a little too nutty when people come over for an 80+ year old.

I know how you feel about the dot's thing. My gma and I used to always talk about the show on the phone the day after. I miss that.

We hated the new crap they were doing with lighting the floor with goofy stuff. It was extremely distracting. I wasn't happy last week with the "contemporary" dances. I think this week they have jazz as one of the dances. I want ballroom dancing. I want standard, required steps. The pro dancers don't have the experience to teach these other styles.

I wish I had an apple, but I ate the last of the apples the other day. Or something junky. I can't go out now during the show.

I put them on the inside of the cupboard below the kitchen sink and inside a cupboard in the bathroom. I also have a pantry and keep one in there far in the back. hat h Tracy - I somehow missed the story of the nasty driver but I can't tell you how many times I've wished for exactly what you witnessed :) Hi Meg!! Hi Barb!!!

Aww... maybe you can call her tomorrow and ask if she was able to watch DWTS and what she thought of it and how you missed her??  Maybe she needs a friend (non-family) these days.  I think that was the saddest for my grandmother was out-living her friends.  They're the ones you can complain to about your family, because complaining to family about eachother only causes infighting.

Glenda - you should share a happy day!!!  Folks wonder if you ever have one if you never share them!

My house is being filled with rock music right now as my friends practice.  Amplifiers and drum machine and all.  Starting at 12:30am.  Whhooo!!!!!!  Gracie is looking at me like, "Really?"  Yes, dear, really.  At least they don't suck. ;0)

Good thoughts for Bugsy and Karen!!!!

Hi Meg!  Glad to hear school is going well!
