Not exactly tip-toeing through the tulips, but still cute! (tacran)

For those of you still dealing with snow and frozen ground, this might cheer you a bit.  The annual tulip festival will soon be starting at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm just north of us.  It's spectacular -- tulips as far as you can see.  They posted this photo on their Facebook page the other day (it's from last year's festival), and my friend sent it to me.  I don't know whose dog it is, but he/she sure looks happy!

Tracy, those tulips are fantastic!  Are you going to go to the festival this year?

I shuddered thinking of what those flowers would look like if any or all of my dogs tip toed through them. lol

One of the few advantages of the climate here is an early spring.  Daffodils are about done already, and tulips will bloom in the next week or two, depending on how many warm days we have.

Jackie, I don't make it to the festival every year, but I've been the past 3 years.  Seeing the fields at peak bloom is impressive.  If anyone is interested, you can see photos of the fields each day on their website's field report.  Not much there yet, but there soon will be!

How pretty! We have an annual tulip festival here too, in Holland, MI which is a couple hours away on lake Michigan. I have never been even though every year I tell myself I need to go check it out. I bet seeing so many tulips in spring is pretty uplifting :)

That's gorgeous.  I would love to see that some day.   I can see Tink doing that.  'Specially if she was running to ALL THE PEOPLES!!

You never see big fields of anything "in bloom" down here - it's one of the trade-offs on the weather.

David and I have been whining to each other -- we had '10 minutes' of cold weather, no 'spring' only to have it zoom to hot.  Today it's so danged humid my concrete steps were slippery.  March and I already can't breathe.  It's not like me to moan and gripe about the weather but dang it -- not in March.  All the flowers are mixed up -- eveyrone's azaleas bloomed in December rather than February.

That photo is wonderful for a 'pick me up' isn't it?!

My crocuses are open, but we have snow predicted again overnight, sigh. Technically we are in MUD SEASON here, the ground is no longer frozen but with all the rain and snow we get, plus the poor drainage in my area . . . . .  NOT what you want with small WHITE doggies, he hee.

We have a lily nursery near us, they have an open house in June and that too is quite a sight to see!

Sandie, growing up in CT, I remember many times seeing the poor little crocus flowers bending under the weight of early spring snow.  Here, the issue is sometimes pelting rain or hail wrecking the fragile, early blooms and flowers.

The lily festival must be really pretty -- very fragrant, I bet.  Besides the tulip farm/festival, there's also a ton of activities in May involving irises.  There are also peony and dahlia gardens that have festivals/displays every summer, too.  Definitely a flower gardeners paradise here!

Tracy that picture just made my morning!  Also, thank you for posting the website link!!!  I love tulips; they're one of my favorite flowers.  If I ever make it out west...

Wow!  Beautiful pic!  You warmed my day!

    So??  Is this chat?
