To tip or not to tip: take-out and pick-ups (tacran)
I wonder about this often, and I had two chances to think about it again in the past 24 hours. Do you pay a tip when you pick up take-out food yourself (not delivered to your door)? Mother's Day (Sunday) Chat
Today is a cook-on-the-grill day if the weather cooperates. We were supposed to get showers here and there yesterday--instead, it poured! And, it's raining again this morning. We need the rain, but it really messed with my mowing and gardening plans. The garden is happy (especially the weeds!). ...

Brrrrrr! It's Saturday
Where did the warm weather go? It's 40s and gloomy. I had to turn the heat on last night! My family is meeting at a Japanese steakhouse for mothers day dinner tonight. Should be good. However, this is all we ever do, get together and eat. I wish we would get together and actually do something...

Finally Friday Chat!
Well Friday came quickly for me. Between the interview earlier this week and getting a crash course in office management from my coworker (whose last day was yesterday) I haven't had much time to breath. I'm a tad nervous about running an entire office. It's completely new to me. So here's...

Sleeping later
I'm glad that Sadie is sleeping through the night most nights now. I just wish she'd sleep in just a bit more! She's crated at about 10p.m. and waking between 4:30 and 5. I know this is normal. Being that it's still dark when she's waking , there isn't much I can do to change...

Let's have a debate - NBC piece on the AKC and puppy mills
There has been an awful lot of backlash about this piece. And I'll be honest I don't get why. At no point did NBC say all breeders are bad. "some AKC breeders raising diseased dogs" At no point did I hear them say that the AKC is the cause of puppy mills but it did point out that the...

Good Collars?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality, long lasting collar? Zeke is on his third, and it's only been a year. The first one he had was nylon with a metal quick release, but I didn't like it because the buckle opened too easily if you grabbed the collar right there. Not something...

FURminator = Good investment?
Does anyone have a FURminator? Does it really work as good as it's advertised? The brushes I have do not get deep into the undercoat, and seem like they may scratch the dogs skin or feel uncomfortable to them.... and the FURminator seems to be a pretty good one, but it is kind of expensive... anyone...
