I know he's not out of the woods yet though and will continue to say prayers for more progress. I know you must be loving each baby step towards his healing though. I know I sure am.
Thanks for keeping him in mind as the days go on. He's still got quite the battle, we need to get rid of the infection completely and have that throat/neck area heal more since he's still coughing up blood... I like that he's moving around more, I think it breaks up the stuff in the throat. His kidneys and liver values need to rebound, next week we'll have blood work to find out if they are improving and if the bad values were not long term damage from the shock but rather a response to the trauma & infections. I've been working with his foot and leg, soaking them in warm water... if he's strong enough, next Wednesday they will x-ray and decide what do do on that aspect. There is some small response in squeezing and pushing on it.
Tonight I'm going to start cutting down the tramadol, he seems to do really well as the dose is wearing off in the late evening/early morning. I think he'd benefit from continued pain control but allowing him to be a bit more lucid (he's very doped up once it kicks in fully). We'll see how he responds to a reduced dose. He's getting tramadol and metacam... I know, very counterproductive to the liver, but he has to be pain free enough to want to heal and move.
