A good friend passed away (BlackLabbie)

A good friend of mine and my DH's best friend took his own life yesterday morning. He was only 29. No note, no known issues or problems he was having. He wasn't depressed, or didn't seem that way. It's so unbelievable, I woke up this morning and truely thought it was all a bad dream.

DH is going home to NY Friday, and I'm staying here (which sucks, but someone has to take care of our dogs/cats, my parents are away this weekend and I'm taking care of their pets too).

Please pray for his family, they are a very close knit people.

I will pray for him, his family and you and your husband as you go through this horrible ordeal.  I am so very sorry to hear this.  Everyone involved will go through a huge range of emotions over the coming weeks.  Be strong.  For whatever reason he made this choice, I do hope that he is at peace now.

I'm so sorry. Suicide leaves such a terrible legacy for those left wondering why this happened.  My prayers are with his family and with you and your husband.

    ((((((hugs)))))

I'm very sorry Stephanie. This happened in our extended family not long ago and it is so hard to get one's head around and understand. You guys are in my thoughts today.

Pretty drastic solution to a perceived problem.  I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, and of course we will keep you, yours, and his family in our thots and prayers.

Stephanie, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.  A suicide is agonizing enough for family and friends to deal with when the person has had known struggles with mental illness or addictions, etc.  But to have no warning or obvious reason why someone takes his own life has to bring another level of emotions and grief.  I can't imagine how you and your husband are feeling, not to mention your friend's family.  Keeping all of you in my thoughts today -- take care.

Ohhh, there's been a range in just the one day...

I've been pretty angry about it- how could you do that to your family??!!!! EVERYONE that knew him loved him! WHY?!

DH has been more quiet/sad/shocked...it definitely hasn't sunk in for him, yet.

One of my cousins killed herself when she was 19 years old. We were very close growing up. The anger was there and the unanswered WHY. Her parents never could accept that she took her own life. There is often never an answer because too many times people keep things bottled up and never reach out for help.  Again, I'm so sorry for everyone involved and for this young man who felt so hopeless.
