Here's what I am wondering. If one can get cell service out there and it's accessible to the public and they could have easily called within minutes of the dog being in trouble and could have had obviously fast response, why didn't they? Now, I wonder if they intentionally went out there to abandon the dog. An intentional "oops". "Oops! The dog is in a hole. C'est la Vie. We should probably call the forest service."
"Okay, but my favorite show is coming on at 7:00 and I still need to shower."
"Just call now and we'll be done with it."
What kind of idiot spends good money on a Malamute pup and then leaves him in a hole? How can these people pee away money like that? I mean, even if one is not that attuned to animals, how can you squander an "investment" like that? With that kind of money management, they should go broke sooner rather than later. I can hope.
It's like the time I found a Shiba Inu in the Sherman Animal Shelter. A rare, expensive breed with price per pup a sizable small fortune. In a rural county shelter.
I'm not the smartest guy in the world but these people make me feel like a genius. Which may not be saying much. It's like saying that I'm smarter than a doorstop.
If they are religious, do they not realize that God gave them dominion over the animals, which also carries responsibility? If they are not religious, do they not realize that they don't even show the compassion one animal shows for another? I know for some, animals are just property, as might be cattle or other chattel. Even so, I bet the guy showed more care for his games and sports equipment, if he has any, than for his living property. Sad. I suppose calling the forest service was simply to cover their own backsides against legal repercussions.
