Safe travels and good thoughts for the doctors to find the answer quickly, and it's something resolvable.

    • Gold Top Dog

I hope you get nothing but good news.... sending lots of good thoughts!

Thanks, everyone, for the good thoughts.  Maska got to Tufts and is being re-tested for possible surgery tonight or tomorrow (actually it IS tomorrow - almost 2am).

Callie, a couple of his liver values were slightly elevated, and he is jaundiced and a bit dehydrated, but the vet who did the ultrasound didn't see any cirrhotic changes, and no active pancreatitis, just a suspicious looking common bile duct that might be obstructed and an enlarged gallbladder.  There are benign and not so benign reasons for it, so I'm praying for the benign.   Playing the waiting game now and very nervous.

I hope you get good news, Anne.  We are thinking of you both.  It's funny, my Grandmother had something that sounds so similar and it was a gall stone in the duct.

Nothing but good thoughts coming your way for Maska.

There are ways to get those liver enzymes down once you get home.  this is actually pretty good news ... holler at me when you want some help getting the liver values down -- it's not difficult and you're taking all the right steps to get the basic underlying problem fixed!! *hugs*
