Food Toys I cannot live without! LOL

Since day one with Zoey I've had food toys, I love that she gets to 'work' for her food. I've also found that the other dogs really enjoy them too. Bella actually just learned last night how to work the food ball!

I wanted to list the food toys I used when Zoey was a puppy & now :)

#1 Kong, lol I don't know how any dog owner can live without this in my opinion!! lol I eventually had 4 for Zoey so I had some in the freezer! I used her kibble and then made a 'cap' with lowfat yogurt, then froze it. She loves it.

Then she graduated to this orange ball, i actually have no idea what it's called, it only has one hole in it. It can take some time to fill, so a little patience is required LOL. but she loves it. There were many nights listening to her beat that ball around her crate LOL.

the most recent is a tug a jug. I've read some other members had some 'extreme' experiences with the tug a jug, things getting broken etc.

Luckily for me zoey isn't a 'flinger' LOL but she loves the jug, I can fit a good amount of food in there.

It's so fun watching them learn how to use these things!!

What food toys do you have for your dog?

I need to get some of those linkables!!

The Linkables are great, but not quite as durable as Kongs and the like.  I only give them to Ziva unsupervised, the other two I supervise when they use the toys since they are rougher on treat toys.

the buster cube is going over really well at my house right now. Abbie pushes it around the entire house and all the furniture. It's perfect for her busy body mind

I really like the 'Havaball' that I found at HomeGoods the other day. I can't think of what KONG calls it, but it's the same thing. I like the Twist and Treat, too, but ever since ours went through the dishwasher on the pots/pans cycle it's really difficult to twist them.

Has anyone been able to get their hands on the new KONG Wobbler? I looked in Pet Supplies Plus and Petco and both of their employees had no idea what I was talking about. I got a knockoff at Wally though and I'm going to see if Pirate is completely terrified or not.

I have the Wobbler - Ziva loves it but it's really too easy for Maggie - the hole is in the middle so it doesn't need to be tipped very much to get the food out.  It is quite durable and weighs a lot so that may help those with large dogs or those with big toy destroyers.

I dont have the KONG wobbler, but I do have the Bob-a-lot, and Bailey LOVES it. It took him a little bit to figure it out, and he was kind of scared of it at first, but now its one of his favorite toys.
I think the KONG wobbler is kind of a rip off of the Bob-a-lot, its pretty much the same thing, only from what Ive seen I think the Bob-a-lot is a much better toy. It has 2 places where you can adjust the size of the hole, to make it easier or harder for the treats to come out. The KONG wobbler doesnt have any adjustments.

I have a video of Bailey playing with it... I'll post it when I find it.

ETA: Its just as heavy as the KONG wobbler, but I dont think thats really a problem for small dogs. Bailey(70lbs) plays with the Bob-a-lot, Jack (30lb spaniel mix) and my neighbors Maltese mix have all played with it, and they all love it.

The only problem I have with it is, since I dont feed kibble, it makes it hard to find things that I can put in it for Bailey. Obviouisly thats not a problem with the toy itself, its perfect for someone who uses kibble.

I'm not as fond of Premier's products now that they are owned by a shock collar company, so I went looking for a safe food dispensing toy.  I found one made in the USA called Treatstik

I had three of these, one for each dog. they could not figure it out! LOL I guess it's just too heavy & hard for them too roll. All they ended up doing was guarding it lol.

If you love those toys then try the, Nina Ottosson Dog Pyramid. This dog toy is durable and fits a lot of different size treats! its a favorite of Ava's.

     Bugsy's favorite is the Paw-zzle

Here's an old video he is much smoother and rolls it faster now

He empties everything else way too easily - and other than a kong, everlasting fun ball or orbee ball he has to be supervised.  I have bought a few of the busy buddy products (purple rubber) and he destroyed them instantly Huh?

What motivates them to play with that? Does the smaller ball inside hold food/treats? Bailey doesnt care much for playing with a toy just for the sake of playing, but if that toy somehow holds food I think he might really like it.

Neiko doesn't get the buster cube. He just slides it around instead of rolling it. Abbie and Lily have no problems though. Abbie will even pick it up by the hole and carry it from room to room. That thing was made for her haha

The smaller ball has a single small hole - only slightly larger than Bugsy's kibble, the inside of the small ball has ridges and grooves so the kibble gets in those too and it is really hard to get out.  At first I was concerned that the rewards weren't often enough for him to stay interested but the larger the challenge the more into it he is; therefore this works for us.

The hole is very small though, Charlie Bear treats would be too big, I only use it with kibble and some pieces of kibble I break (Orjen Fish) to ensure that they CAN get out.  A 1/4 cup of kibble in the everlasting fun ball might take a minute or less for him to get out, guessing but that same amount might take 10 minutes from this because it releases slowly and the less that is in it the harder it is to get them out because of the grooves inside the ball.

It is very loud as it crashes around though LOL
