Good vibes and prayers needed (friend's dog has parvo!) HAPPY UPDATE!

Hey Guys,

Really need your prayers. My good friend's (and former roommate- I recently graduated about a year ago, she still lives at school) basset hound, Saddie (yes, spelled like that. idk why! lol) has parvo. She's not a puppy though, (she's a year and a half) and she's had her Distemper/Parvo vaccine recently. The vet said it's possible she came into contact with it and it's been in her system for a while. (I'm not sure what the incubation period is).Being the rational person that I am, I'm stumped.

She's at the vets now getting IV fluids and stuff. The vet thinks she's got a 50/50 shot of making it through. He said the odds are good that she's at the hospital.

I-dog prayers work again!!

She's home with a boat-load of medicines I'm told. I'm so happy she pulled through. I emailed my friend a lot of info, but I doubt she'll read it. (I love her,- the roommate- but she's stubborn. She doesn't like to get dog-care advice. She's a farm girl who's just learning that dogs belong in the house) Tongue Tied

Yay! So glad she's doing better. Don't give up on your friend. She's made a huge step. Give her time to discover how wonderful it is to have dogs in the house & snuggle.

I'm late seeing this thread -- I'm glad to see that she's doing well and pulled through such a scary diagnosis that so often has a sad outcome. I hope she's feeling stronger each day!
