What Does Your Dog Look Like?

The greet depends on whether or not Kato is sleeping or awake.  I'm home everyday, so there's not a long period of time between seeing me or dh or the kids that he goes through.

If sleeping in the morning when I go to see him, he lazily rolls onto his side./back for a belly rub.  I then rub his ears like crazy and he groans and moans like a bear.  He loves that.

If he's awake, he prances towards me and I like to sit on the steps and let him sniff me and sorta climb on me.  He likes to put his head under my arm and grunts like a pig!  It's weird, but he does it all the time.  He does this to the vet techs in the office as well. He love ANY type of massage, pet, rubbing from anybody.

If he's outside, he'll run at top speed towards me becuase he's convinced I have a treat of some kind.  The usual tail wagging, head up, ears back looking at me for some type of food!

This topic is reminding me of when we took Scout on vacation... she is always so ecstatic when she meets ANYONE, and so at every rest stop she was jumping, wiggling, tail-wagging like crazy, but it seemed that most people were AFRAID of her, and kept their distance.  Finally, though, at one rest stop two guys walked by and saw her and one proclaimed, "It's a wiggler!!  We've got a wiggler here!!" and proceeded to pat her affectionately.  I thought it was incredibly cute[:D]

So, yes, my dog does the whole body-wiggle thing, ears back, toungue slurping like crazy.  She also jumps all over everyone, not so much me and my boyfriend since we don't pat her until she stops jumping, but everyone else she meets, so we're still working on that.

Bugsy is a wiggly waggly ears back love bug - he will have either a kong or his galileo bone in his mouth.  If he forgets to bring you something he will scamper around and find one of the above and re-greet you.  Someimtes if it has been a long time he will 'cry/whine' or whatever it is.
His wiggles and waggles could knock you over so must be careful - his tail is moving fast and his butt is a little tucked

You sure as heck know he's glad to see you!

My girls have vastly different greeting styles based on personality I suppose.

Ellie will circle below you tail low loose and wagging...butt down and ears back. She halfway jumps but then decides she won't lol! If you lean down to pet her it's then alllll they way over on her back tail going a mile a minute then a big SIGH once you rub her tummy.

Sandy will jump up on you...and wants eye contact, until she notices you notice her..then she will then proceed to throw PERFECT free stacks at you...I mean she nails them, lmao! Tail up at a perfect Beagle 12 noon position....vibrating at the tip. Then when you lean in to pet her the ears go back and she luxuriously reaches up with her front feet to rest them on your thighs and streeeeeeetches her back and her neck up to you for a nice rub under the chin...which is her FAVORITE!

Nonnie is a skulker/crawler....she came to me this way...lol. Loosens up once you greet her tho.

Buckwheat my only non Beagle is a zoomer..BIG circles all around you then nips in for a quick pat then round and round again.

My dog Abbi will sit in front of the door until I start to open, jump once, and then run off to grab a toy.  She never seems to care if I play with her right away, its more like she is giving you a gift.  She does the same thing when my best friend comes over.
When my husband comes home she is jumping all over the place.  He isn't ready to train her to stop that.

Rory is the biggest wiggler ever! When she stays at my mom's when I go out of town my motehr has bruises on her shins where Rory's tail hits. She has wiggled and wagged so hard that she has busted her tail open numerous times. It was funny becasue while she was healing I had to tell visitors to ignore her so she wouldnt get excited and wag hard enough to shake her bandages off.

Xena does the "kidney bean dance" also, ears are flat against her head, tails wagging a mile a minute, she has a big smile on her face
she will follow me along the fence wagging and whining until i get to the gate then she will run and sit on the top of the stairs
i put my bags down on the chair on the porch and proceed to get mauled
she licks and tries very hard to sit but her feet cant control themselves
ill be petting her head and she will put her feet on me and brace her head against my hand and try to crawl up my body to give me kisses on the face, she will actually crawl up high enough so her back feet are hanging

one time she did run up my body, i got a mouthful of wet dog snout [:'(], really gross to,exspecially when she had me in a doggie headlock and i was laughing so hard, i think i got my dog slobber quota for the day[:D]

We HAD reached the point where Pofi greeted with a very reasonble, though excited approach/attitude; he would barely be able to sit, he'd be wagging his tail frantically and his head would be pointed up and ears flattened just waiting for petting and kisses (giving and receiving).  But Mia is a complete maniac.  She's the dog with no short term memory.  You can walk out of the room or the house for 5 minutes and when you come back you're greeted with the same intensity as if you'd been gone a day or a week.  Jumping, flailing, writhing, wriggling.  Big, springy, vertical leaps.

And this makes Pofi crazy because he's trying to be a good boy and you can't even approach him because of the maniac in front of you.  So eventually, he wedges himself in between me and her just to get his greeting and he definitely warns her off with some grumbling (NOT really aggressive language, but tough talk).

It's very frustrating and we've made no headway....

Tinkerbelle has ears at attention and i swear a smile on her face and shes wagging her tail and sometimes goes around in circles in front of me lol

Ogre's ears go straight back and his eyes get all squinty and then he WIIIIGGGLES. [:D] His tail wags so hard it smacks his sides and his butt starts wiggling from side to side. If he's really excited he might grumble or oof or whine a little.

Pepito weaves around my feet like a cat and then stands up and jumps. And jumps. And jumps. We've been working on that forever and I don't think he's ever going to quit. [8|]

Axl gets all stiff legged and prances about and smacks the floor with his front paws. Not really bowing, ...just stomping and smacking the floor with his front feet. He's the only dog I've ever seen do it. He also starts sneezing uncontrollably when he's excited so you get a snot shower. Then he leeeeeans against you, whips you with his tail, and nearly knocks you down. [:D]

Abe is usually waiting in the driveway to see if he knows who is pulling up, by breed character, he is somewhat of a paranoid little dog and very untrusting of new people.  When I go inside, Dixie, my old lab, slinks out of MY BED, and walks up to me wagging her tail.  The hunting dogs are all wigglers that bounce around in their pen and take off at 90 mph when you open the door.

Louise's ears go back, she gets a huge smile and she wiggles and prances around like crazy. Her tail is straight out and wags so fast it's just a blur. Sometimes she'll sit down and start waving her paw. Then she takes a giant leap onto the couch from 4 feet away and falls straight back to show me where her tummy is in case I forgot while I was away. This is so much better than the "Hi! I love you! I'm peeing on you! I'm peeing on you!" greeting she did until she was about 6 months old.

She does the same thing with my husband, except she also jumps up on two legs and holds her front legs straight up in the air until he picks her up for big hugs. She gets to be 'bad' with him. She's the most awesome hugger.

Bailey is a crazy wiggler.    We have a gate up from the porch so usually she's wiggling and play bowing and jumping all around waiting for me to come in.

Chani ignores whoever comes in the door but runs from one end of the house to the other, in and out of all the rooms, nose to the floor, sniffing and trying to track down whoever might have snuck in without her noticing :-)

She acts like a hound, even though she doesn't look much like one.

Hayden gets a severe case of the wiggles.  His ears go back and he wiggles more than I dog I have ever known. He lets out high pitch cries of excitement and wiggles while leaning into my legs and then backs up for a bum scratch, then without fail, he rolls onto his back for a good tummy rub.  His grandparents get a special treat, with increased excitement cries and little squirts of pee all over their feet.  He looks so cute and he is so full of joy it is impossible to even be bothered by the tinkles.
