very sad lady! change of behaviour need help!

hi i am having a bit of a confusing time i will go through the whole story so i can describe all symptoms!

my dog lacie has changed and i don't know why she seems very sad when she is home and just lies in her bed all of the time sometimes whinning sometimes shaking and has to have her favourite toys to cuddle with usually she is very playful and as soon as i enter the kitchen she is right behind me waiting to see if i have anything tasty!! but even when the cheese is being unwrapped or i get the tin can out she just stays in her bed sighing? won't go out side unless i really encourage her and then she will just grag another toy and whine at the door itching to get back to her bed. she does not want to go for a walk but when i do eventually get her through the door she is totally like the way she use to be running playing wagging tail totally happy likr a puppy then when walk is over she goes back to her bed and will not move please please can someone give me some ideas been to vet yesterday and they didn't see anything health wise wrong been like this for 2 weeks getting a bit worried now where is my baby gone?

Did the vet test her for ticke-borne illnesses?  Is this an intact female?  (Could she be beginning a false pregnancy?  Sometimes, that will cause them to hoard toys in a "nest.";)  I don't know, but I would either take her back for some more testing, or see a new vet.  Something isn't right when a dog exhibits sudden changes in behavior like that.

Agreed.  This sounds very much like a physical cause.

Get her to the vet asap, this is the way that my April started when she had disc disease.

Absolutely -- vet *now*.  Don't wait because things that cause a dog to be sad and lethargic can be more difficult to treat the longer you leave them -- get her in **TODAY** - it's worth taking the time off work to get her in -- it could easily be urgent.

Maybe she is missing something or someone? My brother because he is so busy hired someone to take care of his dogs. The dogs have became too attached to their nanny, that everytime she takes a vacation, they get really really sad like they do not eat but just lay around like they've lost their best friend. When their nanny comes back, they are so excited and keep jumping around her and licking her feet.

In your case it could be just psychological, take a look these tips:  Dog Tip: Sudden Behavior Changes
