How to stop seperation anxiety before it starts?
Hey guys, sorry I know I keep posting different questions but I'm new to really taking care of a dog. Simba is a family dog, but I'm trying my hand at being pack leader for the future when I get my own place. Anyway, I want to know how to prevent separation anxiety in him before it starts. Today...

Two questions
Hey guys, I feel like such a nusiance now with all of the questions I'm asking, but ya'll are so good at helping me out! Okay, so Simba, my 10 week old puppy has been using his crate since day 1. My question is, am I keeping him in it for too long? He sleeps in there for a good 5 hours at night...

Poll? Pee pads, yes or no?
Do you use pee pads? Wait, let me re-phrase that: Does your dog use pee pads? Are you happy with that? Is it a short term or long term measure? Ever had a bad/good training experience with them? Know anyone else who has?

Food aggression around other dogs, but not humans.

Patty has a humping problem...
OK, my little sweet girly girl Patty has a humping issue... . She's very social with people and dogs. Loves to play and interact with other dogs, but, once she starts playing with a dog, particularly a very small dog she ends up humping it! Male or female, doesn't matter. If the dog snarks at...

When to start crate training and stop free feeding
I have a 2 pound 8 week old pom, and I'm currently free feeding in hopes of avoiding hypoglycemia. I have also been working on crate training during the day by randomly crating him and teaching him that the crate's ok to be held in. And he is fed in his crate with the door open so he knows that's...

So, if it really is the training and not the shock...
So, if it really is all in the training, and not all about the "shock" ...wouldn't this be a legitimate alternative to e-fence? http://www.cooldogtoys.com/virtualfence.php

Titles....
Do titles mean that your methods are superior to the methods used by those whose dogs don't have titles?

Mouthing Puppy
Hopefully this is the right place to put this.... Anyway! Hey guys! So I'm new to the whole young puppy scene, as my first dog was three when I was born, my second was 10 months and had his adult teeth. However, this past weekend my family and I adopted a beautiful boxer mix named Simba. He's...

Bush chewer
Hi all. Here is the problem - My dog chews up and destroys my plants. Anything that does not have thorns, scales or "weapons" of some kind is a suspect to being destroyed. He does not eat them at all but only chews branches off and leaves them lying right there, usually does not even take it...

First of all I don't believe in guard dogs, I believe in security systems. Dogs are pets and important members of the family and that its our job to protect them i ask because that seems to be the case with our Terrier mix. She is a good dog. The sweetest dog ever really. But 2 times now she...

Puppy!
NEWS! As everyone knows, I still live at home, etc. However, I talked my Dad into letting me get a Blue Merle female Collie. However there is some things that factor into it- It will be approx. 1 year before I get the puppy. I am curious if it will be difficult splitting time between Zeke and a new puppy...

Only the Second Lesson
Those of you who are familiar with Kikopup's dog training channel on Youtube will recognize Emily's dog Splash - this is only his second lesson at doing weave poles in reverse. I like her sense of humor - imagine doing a whole course backwards lol??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kyowQzcEgY&feature...

Help with this video
This is Nikon and Ana this afternoon. I'm not really a puppy person so I'm not sure about this behavior (Ana is almost 10 weeks and Nikon is almost 16 months). It should be said that Nikon is VERY vocal. He sounds terrible but believe me, he growls like this even if he's just playing with...

Puppy pees on pads, poops on floor
Our new 8 week old Cairn Terrier quickly learned to use pads for peeing but does not use them for pooping. He has gone at least a half dozen different places, and only one or two times on a pad (followed of course by copious praise). The spot is cleaned with an enzymatic cleaner, but how can we get him...
