13 weeks later Solid Gold responds.....

Back in September my dog got sick from Solid Gold's "Just A Wee Bit" kibble when he had not had any problems previously with Solid Gold kibbles for six years.  I had posted how I e-mailed, phoned, and wrote a letter, and received no response.  I received an e-mail on Wednesday from Solid Gold (thirteen weeks later) saying that the new products specialist position had been vacant for several months.  That still isn't a reason to ignore a customer's attempts to contact the company.  I was told that the "Just A Wee Bit" kibble had been changed-instead of salmon meal they are using ocean fish meal.  I was asked for the dates, numbers on the bags, etc., (I had already e-mailed and put this in the letter), and so I forwarded my original e-mail I had sent the first week of September. I was asked to send samples of the kibble-which I threw out after keeping it five extra weeks after I contacted them three ways anticipating a response.  Finally I was told I could get a letter for a free replacement product which I declined.  Hopefully anyone else who feeds this kibble to their dog is not having problems with it.  I know different products work differently depending on the individual dog. I am feeding Eagle Pack kibble and Evo canned now, and he is doing well on these foods.

So let me get this straight......no "We're very sorry to hear that ".......just another bag of the same food that made your dog sick in the first place?! Wow.Sad

The woman who runs the store where I buy my dog's food told me that by law a pet food company is allowed to change ingredients in the food for up to six months without changing the bag to reflect the different ingredients.Bad policy for those with sensitive dogs.
