Lori, would your purpose be to make her regular food more palatable? Is Willow the weight you want?

Wow!  I've never seen Wilderness canned for cats, so didn't know that they made it.

Under normal circumstances I'd say, sure, give it a try, but I'm not really up to date on Willows health concerns.  Weren't there some stomach issues?  Or have those resolved?  The Wildnerness canned for dog would be quite similar ingredient wise if you wanted to stick with canine products......I don't see anything in the ingredients that alarms me, but, I don't know what specific issues she has either.

Hi again, it would just be as a topper, she doesn't really "need" a topper per se, but she's used to having one.  And, this is something that I think with the limited ingredients she would be able to handle.

I was just a little worried that I shouldn't feed it because it's for cats.  But, it's not her main food or anything like that.

    Thanks, again.

Lori, I just checked out the Blue website, and the GA is identical on the Wilderness cat and Wilderness dog.  The dog is only available in a chicken/turkey blend, while the cat comes in chicken OR turkey.

For the turkey cat and for the dog:

Crude Protein, 10%, crude fat 9%, Fiber 1.5%, Moisture 78% and the only difference is that the dog doesn't list ash, which the cat does at 2.5%.

I don't see any reason she can't have this, either dog or cat, as a topper.

Thanks, Glenda.  Yeah, that's the reason I was looking into the cat version because she can't have chicken.  Thanks, I'm sure she's going to really like it, she seems really into cat food.

I used to use cat food as a topper for Ben when he ate kibble (he needed something to hide pills in).  It worked well because it was a lot of tasty bang for the buck, and if I could find a brand that was chicken free, it rarely had eggs in it.  Premium dog food often uses egg to stabilize their foods.

Thanks guys.  Yeah, I think I'm going to try a little and see how she does and how she likes it.  It would be nice to have this as something else I can add in, she gets lots of meats and baby food and sometimes I just need a break from the expense and work of it.

    Thanks!

I just went and took another look Lori, and they also have a flaked turkey, flaked tuna, flaked salmon....if Willow can have any of those.

The ingredients look good, but the downside is that they are 3 oz cans.  My three cats get 1/6th of the normal blue canned every morning, so that would really increase my cost to buy those.  May try a few just for a bit of variety, but sure can't afford to make them the daily wet.
