    Possible switch to Diamond

I'm thinking of switching Sam to Diamond(it's cheeper - and better then Iams). I'm at a loss on what to put him on thou....Large Breed? Lamb/Rice? Chicken/Rice? Active? Hi-Energy? Origional? Exterme Athelete? Maintence Formula? Performance Formula? Premium Formaule? Low-Fat?

    I'm at a loss here.

I know that he doesn't need Active, Hi-Energy, or Extreme Athelete. He's not working, and he just does walks and plays. And soon - runs. He's not in need of that many calories.

I'm still confused thou. I really need some advice here....Oh, they didn't have Chicken Soup on the website or Taste of the Wild....

ETA - how much protein will he need too? fat content? Kcals?

I like the looks of the Natural Lamb & Rice formula, and reccomend it, fairly frequently to people who aren't in a position to buy premium foods, but need something better for their dogs. Becca used the Extreme Athelete for a while, for some of her working dogs, if I'm remembering. For a regular dog, though, you really don't need a power formula.

I will be switching Shailer to Diamond too but that will be once I find the store.....or a ride.....

Any information you get will probably help me though. Smile

He doesn't need anything low fat or high calorie.

I figured Lamb and Rice, but the Beef and Rice has higher protein(if I remember correctly)

No advice from me. Wink I just wanted to mention that Chicken Soup and Taste of the Wild have their own websites.

ETA:  Here they are if you wanna sneak a peak.  www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com & www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com

Taste of the Wild and Chicken Soup will be similar in cost to the Iams, but way, way, way way better.  The funny thing about Diamond Naturals is though, that it's less than the Chicken Soup and the ingredients are comparable.

I'd say any of the Naturals line (the beef you are looking at would not be part of the naturals line).  I really don't like the regular line and that is the one where the corn was contaminated many years ago.  I noticed that the Naturals Lamb and Rice is very similar to the old lamb and Rice Canidae, which was a very popular product.
