A fear of grass?
I don't know if it's actually a fear or if it just feels weird on his feet. Benny knew almost nothing of grass until he was almost 2 years old because of his previous living conditions. We work agility at an indoor facility and the only trials that my trainer goes to are inddors. I have started...

Evo 95% meat
I've finally found a food that I can feed Zack when I can't give him raw (like when we're traveling) that doesn't cause gas or diarrhea. Yay!! Does anyone else feed this? We tried the vension formula.

Bland diet questions
My dogs have been under the weather and I am also wanting to change foods, so right now they are on a bland diet. Last week I took a fecal to the vet which was negative for giardia and other parasites. They are on medication to control the diarrhea so they don't get dehydrated, but other than that...

Dry kibble recommendations, please
Ok, so since I got Apollo (March 1, 2007) he's been on Canidae ALS regular formula. I tried Blue Buffalo but he had soft poops and dry skin. So, back to Canidae we went. He eats his food like he's never eaten before- all the time, so I'm not even sure if it's necessary to switch. Do you...

AHBA events?
Does anyone have experience with American Herding Breed Association events? There is an AHBA trial in a few weeks at the farm that I train Neiko at and I'm thinking of entering. Not sure if we are up to competing yet but I like to get my shoes wet sometimes just to know what things are like. So any...

Why not use this for dog food ingridient?
Are dried beans bad for dogs??? Because dried beans I think are better than corn, rice, or potatoes. It would also be cheaper than any of those to use?? So why don't dog food brands use it? Just curious.

citric acid in food
I just read that citric acid in food can cause bloat if you moisten the food. Eagle Pack Salmon/Anchovy has citric acid...dont' know what others may have it.

My girls passed the CGC!
Last weekend we went to a practice hunt test. Trudy did extremely well, pointed two birds, held her point through the gun shot (we let her chaise the flushed bird) and listened to her mom when called back in. Grace had to be on a check cord, but showed lots of natural talent - too bad she's a big...

Lean meat and minute rice?
I was at the vet's today and I was floored when we started talking about appropriate calorie content for my dog and he suggested that I cut out treats or use carrots or other veggies as treats and I made the point that my dog Rupert decides what's a "reward" for him and carrots just...

Nutrition/Supplementation advice.
My buddy Bo is the hardest working lab I've had, or seen, for that matter, but he has a tough time relaxing. I've been told that there are supplements that might help with this, but nobody has been forthcoming with a suggestion. Any suggestions would be most welcome. I know there is no substitute...

little PO'd with canidae...
Okay, here's the situation: I've been feeding canidae for a really long time. i think it's a good quality food, for a decent price. My dogs have done well on it, and i recommend it to everyone. They have their own frequent buyer program that is independent of my pet store. Well about a month...

specific 'stay' problem - ideas please
Bugsy and I play 'find it' a lot. It is his favorite game - I put him in a down stay (he hates sit stay) and then I go hide an object. Lately he is cheating . Because we play this outside (an acre) and also inside (3 floors) I leave his sight in going to hide the object. So he waits a while and...
