Nature's Variety Instinct Dry Question
I ordered a small 4 pound bag of Nature's Variety Instinct Chichen for Nemo to try and noticed that there is a pattern of small pinholes on the bottom of the bag. Is this normal? I haven't opened the bag yet. I went to their website to try to find a customer service number to call and ask...

Has anyone ever trained their own service dog?
I'm thinking about training a dog for my mom. She has anxiety issues and could use a dog to go shopping with, etc. Not sure of the channels I need to go thru to do it on my own or if I even could. Anyone have any experience with this type of thing? Pros/cons?

Easiest breed to show?
My friend has a 7 year old daughter that loves dogs. She would really like to go to classes with me and learn how to train and maybe show a dog. What breed would you guys think a 7 year old could handle mostly by herself? The only restriction the parents have is it cant be no bigger that Lillie. So their...

What do you think for rotation??
Started feeding all 3 of my guys homecooked about 3 weeks ago, or thereabouts. So far I've noticed a big difference in my young 17mnth old NSDT/Retriever mix in regards to the fact that he seems more satisfied after eating a meal. Before, after having spent the first year feeding Innova large...

The Judge Made a Mistake :-(
Had an agility trial with Belle this weekend. She was her usual perfect self! My big star. Anyway on Sunday we ran in Open Standard, she was perfect. We have had issues in the past with contacts, and I have been really working. Unfortunately her handler is having a weave issue I hope to work through...

In light of the newest recall, you should all find this interesting...
I think most of you will find this article "enlightning". I sure did. I'm dying to read the book and will look for it at B&N this week. http://www.alternet.org/healthwellness/97989/pet_food_politics%3A_why_our_pets_still_aren%27t_safe/

Taste of the wild, few others?
Anybody feed this? Our local dog bakery now has a frequent buyer program. Orijen, nature's variety and TWO are just way too expensive. They have by nature, Taste of the wild, fromm, and before grain. I had never heard of before grain, but i picked up a sample and the boys loved it. Any feedback on...

Poo Poo Nirvana!!!
I know there are some of you out there who can relate to this, so I just have to share. My dogs have had perfect tootsie roll poops for like 3 weeks running now. I can't even describe how happy this makes me! I know, I'm sad and have no life, but there it is. Dealing with their stomachs and their...

Is this okay for dog muffins?
The orginal recipe was posted at allrecipes.com, a friend of mine made some changes to it and passed it on to me. Her muffins came out way different from mine... mine were way too soft and wouldn't stay together plus it took forever to cook. Anyhow, I wanted to ask about the ingredients to make...

Bones for dogs who don't like to chew
Aesop dislikes chewing..give him something even as simple as a chicken nugget and he'll act like you expect him to hold a mouthful of pudding. He'll mouth it until it falls out. I've given him marrow bones and he ends up just licking them. He does chew kibble and cookies (but they must be...

My Meeting With a Nutro Rep
During the weekend I was browsing some Nutro products at a Petco because a friend of mine feeds them the large breed variety. I was reading the ingredients and a Nutro rep approaches me and started explaining to me how great Nutro is such as no by-product meals, and no wheat. So I ask her a few...

E Collar Question
I got an E collar about a month ago for reliability of recall at the dog park. Other than that, my dog is pretty well trained. Lately, I have been reading alot of information that is negative on the E Collar. I even joined a newsgroup on E Collar training, and when I asked some questions about the negative...

By Nature Salmon, Ocean Fish and Yogurt Formula
I am really interested in trying this food (now that I have found that my lab has no problem with barley). It is hard to find fish based food with high enough protein (and moderate fat) without stuff like pea protein, potato protein, and etc...but I think this food could be the fish based food for my...

Where to buy my first set of weave poles?
I need to get some weave poles, but I;m not sure where to look or what a reasonable price is. I had DH build me a set, but it's just not working out because they won't stay standing on their own. I want a set of 12 in the long run, but it looks like they only make sets of 6?? I also need the...

who feeds veggies?
I want to start making food for my dog Kenya- a mix of veggies and meat and raw meaty bones. I know all the arguments for and against feeding veggies; all I need to know are what are good veggies to use and how can I make this diet into a balanced diet? I've fed some raw for a few years now but I've...
