Pumpkin/Spinach or Pumpkin/Chard Recipe?
I am looking for good recipes to use up pumpkins. When I was pregnant, one of my pregnancy books has a recipe for a casserole that had pumpkin and either spinach or chard--I think chard. The nutrition was off the charts and it tasted delicious. I can't find the recipe or remember the book I found...

AFS Dog Food (Animal Food Services)
Hi Everyone: Does anyone feed this food or have any information on it? I'm not sure about the ingredients including the vitamins in the Majestic Raw 5 pound rolls. Are these vitamins complete and all a dog needs? They certainly claim a lot and have a informative website. The person I spoke with...

We're moving up BRAG!
First trial: zoomies, stress/shutdown. On top of that, it rained on our first trial. It was just a nasty weekend. Second trail: 3 of the 4 runs Qs and first places. Still some stress but no zoomies. She is at half speed. Third trial (this weekend): 3 of 4 run, Qs and first places. The crowd was...

Activia/Yogurt
Grocery store had Activia on sale today and I bought some for myself. While I was leaving the store, I wondered if I could give this to the dogs to help their digestion too? I remember someone saying that the amount of regular yogurt you would have to give a dog to be of significant help was quite a...

Wellness Core
I've been giving my crew Wellness Core. The only place in town sells it for $57 for their largest bag (can't recall the number of lbs.) I'm wondering if this is around the average price for anyone else who feeds Wellness Core. Info anyone?

Need calcium help with homecooked
Baily is eating Canidae Chicken & Rice (still have a supply of old formula). For a long time, I was adding canned version as a topper as well as green beans to help fill him up. I have also been giving raw chicken wings occasionally. Recently, I have wanted to move him to more fresh foods. I started...

Supplemental (tinned) food - anything wrong with this one?
On the site that I order Ben's food from, I've come across what I think is a very nice looking tinned food. I put "toppers" on Ben's food, often, but these would offer a little more variety. Here are the ingredients of the ones I'd be most likely to give him: Turkey with Potatoes...

Has Anyone Tried ...
... That new Pro Plan Shredded Blend formula? Supposedly it's supposed to have come out in September ... Just got my new issue of Today's Breeder (Purina published mag) and it has a write up regarding the new formulation plus the ingredients. Supposedly this is not a last minute formula change...

Any Timberwolf feeders? Save $20 on your next purchase...
I received an e-mail today informing me that anyone who takes the time to fill out their online survey will get $20 off a 33 lb. bag purchase (you have to order online). They are also apparently (until Dec. 19th) donating one bag for every bag sold to rescues/shelters/sanctuaries. http://timberwolforganics...

Is it Ethical for Veterinarians to Recommend Pet Foods?
This is an interesting article... http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/81203 I wish vet schools would have more in-depth nutrition courses.

Underweight, seemingly starving GSD
I've been combing the internet for months looking for answers for my german shepherd puppy's health problems. I have a German shepherd dog named Bear and I got him from a first year breeder who clearly did not know what he was doing. Half the reason I bought the dog was because it was so underweight...

Treadmills?
Hi everyone. After I took sessionswithcesar.com training course, I considered getting a treadmill for Mikey to run on indoors. Cesar showed how a dog can be given plenty of exercise while learning how to use one, but I am a bit hesitant to do it with Mikey. The dogs in the videos adapted well and eventually...

Safest meat for raw feeding?
I've read, somewhere in the past, that if one was going to feed raw that beef was a tad safer then chicken. Is this at all true? I'm not trying to start a debate on raw being safe or not, simply asking which raw meat is the safer one to try. And are *ground* meats safe to feed raw? ...

Scout's first agility class was today....
I got Scout from the Russell Rescue when he wasn't really one since the organization helps owners find homes for owners. The original owner went through a nasty divorce and she knew she could not provide the lifestyle for two JRTs. Yes, she also has his aunt. Well we got him in February after the...

This Will Be Fun & Interesting!
I have been asked to start handling a friends dog in agility. While I am very honored I am apprehensive too. I still consider myself a novice handler who has a really good dog. My friends dog is a young Cardigan Corgi. That in itself will be interesting since Belle is huge, and now I have a little one...
