    lump on neck

We just adopted a 17 lbs mixed breed 9-12 month old pup from a shelter last Sunday. She was very quite, skinny and coughing. We took her to our vet monday, and he gave her 2 antibiotic shots and a 2 week course of pills for her cough. She seems to be feeling much better, is active with our 8 year old lab and eating well. Cough also seems better. I was just petting her, and discovered a decent sized (think "jacks" ball) lump on the back of her neck. It is moveable, and doesn't seem to bother her. Could this be from her shot? I am concerned it is something bad :(. It feels kind of like a lipoma but isn't she young to have those? I will be taking her to the vet friday for suture removal (spayed by shelter) so I will bring it up then, but any ideas in the mean time? Thanks! Maggie (dogs- Abbey and Eva, cat Homer)

It's very likely that the lump is where your vet gave the injections.  If it isn't resolved by suture removal time, I would definitely have it looked at.
