Please help my dog get rid of canine papillomas virus

Hello My three year old Golden Retriever has developed canine papillomas virus) on the tip of his tongue. Pther than surgery, does anyone have any ideas on treatment options? I heard many people use L Lysine and have found it very effective. If anyone on this forum has experience with L Lysine, I'd love to know 1) The name of the specific product used that contains L Lysine 2) Dosage 3) How long before you saw results. We live on a remote island and do not have access to a range of products, so a list of medicines that contain L -lysine would be most helpful. I'll order it online Hope to get some feedback soon vefore this condition gets worse. Thanks :)

just get a bottle of straight LLysine at GNC or Vitamin World..the kind they sell for people. I give my Beagles 500mgs I think...they chew it up straight, they like it. Bigger dog could probably double up to 1000mgs a day and be fine, Results meaning ceasing to GROW and the very beginnings of drying up...about 2-4weeks. It's nothing you can rid your dog of overnight...and even if they have surgery they may return.

Crushing them is also helpful and releases antibodies. But on the tongue I doubt the dog would allow it.

We used a product called Viralys that we bought from our vet.  It was a gel for of L-Lysine, that our dog would easily take.  It took about 3 weeks before they started to dry up.
