Kota's not eating

So last night Kota did not eat his dinner. He ate his treat with his pill in it but none of hte kibble. He was happy to eat treats out playing agility so I thought maybe he was just hot earlier and didn't feel like eating. though that is not his norm. He didn't eat this morning either and I noticed that he had had diarrhea at some point because he had some on his butt fluff. He did eat the biscuit I gave him, though not as fast as normal. An hour later he'd puked that up and had a mucousy diarrhea. I boiled some chicken and he wouldn't eat it. :(

So we have a vet apt at 11:15am. Send some get to feeling better vibes for the little guy. He's 10 1/2 now and I love him to death. I'm even working from home because of him today.

We have days like that sometimes....I don't blame you for worrying. I hope Kota feels better soon.

Went to the vet and she said his tummy was really painful and lots of gurgling noises going on in there. He got an antinausea shot and an anitbiotic shot. He seemed to perk up quite a bit by late afternoon and ate his boiled chicken dinner. he also ate his chicken breakfast. Tonight, if there are no accidents in the house, we'll see how he does with kibble. Hopefully it was just a bug but the vet will call with bloodwork results today.

He acted kind of weird this morning. He was standing still and kept looking back at his rump/hip/tummy. He turned in a circle without moving his back legs at all, they just pivoted on the ground. It was very odd and I wonder if his tummy is still sore or something.... I sure hope he's ok.

Willow does that when she has gas--she can't seem to figure out what's going on back there.

Glad he seems to be getting better for you though.

The anti-nausea shot stings a little, so my vet says. Did he get it on his rear? Maybe that's bothering him? (I always wonder EXACTLY how my vet knows that it stings, LOL.)

Glad he's doing OK, for now.

I finally talked to the vet and he has low T4. Like .2 low. So she's going to contact the lab to see if they have enough blood left to run a full panel for fT4 to see if his body is making or using it correctly. If that comes back tomorrow or Thurs that he is low, then on supplements we go. I was doing some research on this board and really appreciate all the links and help that everyone gives to those with this problem. The good news that I get from the other posts is that supplements can get him on normal and no big deal. He's already on Pheno for seizures and we have a trial this weekend, so I'm not sure if he'll do his runs or not. It will depend on how he's acting and feeling on Friday night. I'm not working him or anything the next few days to make sure that he gets better.

He had a senior panel done a year or two ago and it was fine. So I hope that this may be a result of him just being sick but the fT4 should tell us right?

Keep the little guy in your thoughts. He really wanted to go out and play tonight but I didn't want to get him worked up if he's still not functioning right.
