Anyone use Inflight Coat Formula?

    Anyone use Inflight Coat Formula?

Well, we found out that Bear is not growing her hair back because I shaved her, not because she has low thyroid. That came back normal. Someone recommended the Inflight Coat formula in the thread about her hair, and I looked it up. It sounds good, but I wondered if anyone has experience with it. Or any other helpful hints that may help the poor girl grow her hair back. I give her a month to have hair, with the supplement or whatever I can do, and then she gets a coat before it gets cold here. Julie

Well I was the one who suggested it but I have had good luck with it :)

I have used it on and off for years (it has been around probably at least 10 years) to help my dogs get coat back quicker for showing after they have been in season or had puppies. I have suggested it to friends over the years and everyone has been pretty pleased with it. Recently a Golden I know grew coat back surprisingly quickly after being started on it due to  vet-tech-gone-crazy-with-clippers encounter.

The testimonials didn't have anyone with an actually bare dog. SOme of them said bare dogs, but pics showed dogs with just thinner looking coats than normal. The first page says it will help with bare spots, though. That is the main reason I was asking, to see if anyone really has had experience with a dog grwoing hair back in a case like this, of owner ignorance. Bear has oddly enough, also just grown a really sparse coat back on her belly too, although her legs came back just fine all the way to the top. I really appreciate the tip on the coat formula. J

Not sure if I missed you saying this, but is she still intact? My intact Aussie needs a ton of calories to grow coat at certain times in her cycle. (She eats between 1.5 - 3 cups of food a day depending on where in her cycle she is.) Also, by 8 years old, their bodies are starting to slow down, so it takes longer to heal.

You may want to change her food, try something else too see if that helps at all and I would say use Inflight or what Willowchow suggested.

She is spayed. And I really like her food. She eats taste of the wild. She is one of those strange eaters who will eat her whole portion one day, then nothing the next day, then a few bites, then a little more. She has been like that from puppy on. As much as I love her, bear is a strange dog all around. :-) If I don't get many bad reviews on this, I am definitely going to try it. She is small enough that it won't even cost much to try it. J

Bear's been on the supplement now for a couple weeks. She is growing a bit, but I don't know if it is the inflight yet or normal growth. I am still waiting to see how much it starts to grow. I'll be happy with any amount right now, but I hope for a good coat. julie
