    PhyCox JS for joints??

My vet recommended this to me for Bugsy as we think he may have a bit of arthritis in his hips creeping in.  Nothing serious but sometimes he is stiff. The vet has goldens and said that he taken them off rimadyl completely and is using this with great success. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it

    better link

between the flaxseed and the 'liver'  flavor (assuming it will be chicken) he is unlikely to be able to take it, plus for his size the cost is pretty darn high.  He gave us 10 chews but for B that is only two days of the initial dose LOL so other than an allergic reaction I'm not sure we'll see anything

Anyway thought I would pass it on and see if others have tried it

Never used it -- tumeric is good (natural anti-inflammatory), but you probably have that in your cupboard now and it's easily supplemented.

Flax is a problem?  It's cheap enough for sure.  YOu can buy it in bulk already ground (and it's still cheap).

I still like Knox NutraJoint -- am back on that myself, in fact.  But I've used it really successfully with several dogs.  Takes about 3 months to work, but when it does it's a permanent change, not just a hydrator (like glucosamine/chondroitin).

We tried Phycox, but it gave Bevo, what can only be described as, "explosive" diarrhea.  Currently, we are using MegaFlex.  It's a powder that goes over his food.  He eats it with no issue, & it's very reasonably priced.

You may have problems getting Phycox in the near future.  Teva, who puts out DVM Pharmacueticals products, is under investigation by the FDA.  I believe that they are being forced to stop production while the investigation is going on.

I use http://www.synflexamerica.com/pet/index.php for Grady.  He's got arthritis in his right elbow.  He seems to be doing well with it.

     thanks all

Callie I have been giving him the nutrajoint for about 6-8 months.  The stiffness is so intermittent that it will be hard say that there are definitive improvements

Amanda all we have seen so far is LOUD farts ha ha - thank you for the serious info re the company and the supplement.  Sounded too good to be true and I couldn't find any info on the 'phycox' that is supposed to be the important ingredient.

Thanks Annie we'll check it out.

Whatever is or isn't going he showed no pain to the vet and his knees seemed fine and he said he saw a tiny elevation in his right hip while trotting but didn't feel anything.  I may go ahead and get him xrayed at some point - although honestly I HATE to see what he has done to his body Tongue Tied
