Is this normal or a problem alert?

Some times when my dog breathes, it sounds like he is snorting but he is not asleep, or it sounds like he has respiratory conjestion.  Does anyone's dog does that?  Is that something should be concerned about?  Thank you for any input!

ost nasal drip but if you have a chance when he is doing it clap your hands behind his head loud enough to make him gulp..with that he swallows the mucis that is causing it...if nothing obvious try to keep a tape recorder around and get the sound on it and let your vet hear it...

Dvet, thank you for your info.  I'll try the ways you mentioned.  Please forgive me but what is "ost"?  And do you know what causes the mucus?   Thanks a lot again!
