    strange whiteish diarrhea

My friend has a lab puppy that he got from another one of my friends they found on the side of the road. I wormmed the pup about two days ago and he is telling me that the pup has diarrhea and it is a whitish color. Could this just be from the wormer or is there an underlineing problem

Honestly it's impossible to tell -- if this is a 'found' dog, it needs to be vetted.  Why?  Because it could be carrying parasites that are dangerous to itself and other dogs NOT killed by the wormer you used.  "pup" can be 2 days old to 2 years old.

I never EVER bring a foster or strange dog home until I've taken it TO the vet for a fecal and an exam.  I don't care how 'good' a friend I got it from or what rescue group promised me on a stack of Bibles 6' thick that the dog had "been seen by a vet" -- nope -- he sees MY vet.  *I* am gonna pay him to tell ME the dog is ok for MY yard.  I don't want it 2d, 3rd or 4th hand.  I don't want a fecal report that is 2 weeks old either -- I want to know the day I bring that dog home he's healthy.

Why?  Because I took a dog during a hurricane 8 years ago for a friend I did rescue with.  This was a woman I worked with EVERY week -- she fudged and told me the dog was clean when he wasn't just because he assumed he was.  She'd wormed him but that didn't kill the hooks/whips he had --- and within 3 weeks my own "old guy" at the time was dead.  All 3 of mine wound up with whips/hooks and my old guy died before I could even FIND the problem.

Parasites *can* be lethal and you don't always see them.  You've already got white diarreha which could be anything from a dog not digesting his food, a dog who ate something weird (and white) like toilet paper, or a dog who is VERY sick.

Vet ... now.  It's one of those things you just can NOT know without a fecal.
