Rehab of Dog w/Surgery on Broken Femur
My dog (80 lb Rhodesian RIdgeback) was just discharged from the hospital after having surgery to mend a broken femur (probable hit by car) by screwing a plate in and grafting from hip. The next few weeks' priorities are keeping him in crate/pen so that bone heals, keeping him from picking at/licking...

I pet the dog as she lay on the table & went back to my friends moms house, where the dog lived and had been recently sick. Is there any chance...

Who makes the best clippers?
Hey everybody. I need to buy a pair of clippers so I can start to groom my dogs myself. I have 8 cocker spaniels and would like to get a good pair. Nothing cheap though. I was told that the Oster a5 dual speed are good clippers. I used a pair of them but they were an older pair and the blade was getting...

Early Morning Trip to the Vet
Well, I don't know how Honey did it, but during the night she maaged to bust open the middle part of her incision. There was this big gaping hole in her leg. Instant panic,of course. The stitches were due to come out today and it was so un-healed as to have that hole. I figured it would have to be...

Clostridium intestinal infection....???
My little pom has just recently come down with this condition. I know dogs generally have this bacteria in their gut anyways, and it's normally not an issue unless something is introduced into their system; i.e. stress, not enough fiber, etc. Can others shed light on what causes this?

broken nail
I noticed my dog limping today. It seems to be his front right paw that is causing the discomfort. I can only see a nail that looks to be split, everything else looks fine. If I wanted to help him out by trimming or cutting the damaged nail, what tips/tricks/tools/advice can I use? I have a petticure...

CHD links?
A student of mine just had her young dog xrayed and found out Penny (40ish lb pit mix) has hip dysplasia in both hips. :( She's asking me for resources, but I figured you all are my best one, so I'd query those of you with direct experience instead. The vet has said not to limit normal activities...

Heart murmurs
I have a pup with a heart murmur. You can actually feel it if you put your hand on her belly. She is beyond the age that she would have grown out of it. She's a pretty mellow pup (obviously) and while she is playful it is not the typical crazy puppy stuff. I hear though that dogs with murmurs...
