Sorry for writing a novel, I asked two separate questions on the issue somewhere else so I am just combining them. He is only 2 years old and already been through a lot. I almost lost him 2 times. He was coughing up blood both times I had to take him to the vet for fluids, medicines, and all sorts...

What to break up mats?
We have a new dog who is a poodle mix, supposedly with yorkie. She was washed twice without being brushed first, and has some significant matting. I brushed most of the matting out of her back with Luke's pin brush. I didn't even try brushing out her legs, the mats are tighter, and I felt like...

Sick JRT
Hi all, once again I find myself in a panic and waiting on the vet to call me back. I went to the bathroom at about 4 this morning and Chloe was sound asleep, I come back in and she is sitting up shivering as if she had been scoulded. So I cuddle with her and took her outside. She used the potty so we...

Just involving facial twitches and mouth flapping with drool. I was able to just talk to him and he came back out of...

Wheatgrass was a hit!
Last winter my husband planted winter rye in the yard. Because we live in Texas, Saint Augustine is the grass of choice, but in the winter he likes to fill in the gaps with winter rye. I like this because it equals less muddy paws entering the house. But I observed another reason for liking it last winter...

Radiation treatment
Just wondering if anyone has experience going through radiation treatment for thyroid cancer in their dog. Our dog will start on Monday and if all goes as expected will probably have treatment for 4 weeks, 5 days a week.

My black Doby has allergies - my red Doby doesn't
Hi --- My black Doberman is fine all summer, but from Sept to May, he scratches constantly and rubs the sides of his snout against furniture (this makes him gum area quite red afterwards). My original vet recommended Benedryl, but I don't like the idea of giving him this type of drug. I'm looking...

vomiting immediately after eating? - update page 6
Sammy has a vet appt tomorrow, so this is more for information and things to bring up tomorrow than true advice on what to do, although both are welcome. Starting last Wed (ie, 10 days ago) Sammy vomitted after eating. Like, 1-2 minutes after finishing. It was the full retching, and muscle action...

ANY CLUE????
Hi, at first a couple weeks ago my dog had what looked like bug bites on her stomache, in her armpits, and down the upper half of one leg. Then they went away. A couple days ago they returned, and now my dog has bumps all along her lips and on her nose. A couple look like big cold sores. I can't...
